I'd say Danny Garcia has to be the poster boy of what he's talking about.

Garcia is a bonafide millionaire who's been in maybe 3 total "risky-on-paper" championship fights.

The overwhelming majority of boxers that went broke did so because they were idiots who made poor decisions with their money. That's not anybody's fault but their own. If they're too ****** to understand that spending over your limit isn't good in the long run, too bad.

The worst thing that ever happened to boxing was the athletes gaining too much control and power.

Athletes gained more power and control in the NFL, NBA, and MLB, and their earnings continue to increase right along with their owners' profits. Why is it that the same can't happen for boxing? It seems the only way the sport can survive is if the fighter gets less, but the promoters, casinos, networks, etc. make their profits!

Great quote from Lewkowicz, that's what I've been saying all the time. Fighters have been spoonfed for a couple of years and now they believe that they deserve more than what they bring to the table.

Regardless, it is still PLENTY of money to be made in boxing without Investors money, but fighters need to get off of their asses and their high horses and FIGHT! It is clearly that Haymon SPOILED some guys too much when they actually think they deserve 8 Figures vs Pacquiao when they themselves haven't even headlined a PPV

Guys turning down fights should be SHELVED and let their money start to Dry Up a little to teach them a lesson then when they're serious about fighting again then let them comeback

Those particular organisations actually have a level of structure that boxing can't even begin to comprehend. You don't have athletes from those sports refusing to compete against the best competition and then selecting vastly inferior opposition instead.

All I was referring to was how I'd heard Haymon's money was running out. As for your last bit, there are less than 5% of fighters who are even able to go full time... let alone make a decent check to support their family. If they fully believe fighting X fighter is a suicidal career move, that's their biz. Not mine. Blackballing fighters is certainly no direction to go.
