He should have fought Margarito as well as Baldomir, as well as Williams, Cotto, Mosley, Cintron, Clottey and Collazo. The problem is that they are not enough months in the year. Every other big name fighter takes 6 months between fights... I don't know why Floyd is not allowed to do so as well.
With that theory , do you not think as a fan you would prefer to see him fight Margerito than Baldomir for the same amount of $?
    Ignore the WBC belt.
The whole "WBC belt is the only belt worth anything" is LONG GONE.

Against limited or over the hill competition I agree.
We have yet to see if he can do it against a young fighter in their prime since moving up to 140 147 & 154.

His fight with Hatton isn't even going to be at the right weight for his opponent.

        There is always a catch.

The WBC belt is the best belt theory is... ******.

Anyways, I don't know who they would have rather seen... I quite suspect that everyone would say Margarito ****** had Mayweather whitewashed him like he did Baldomir.

Who did Margarito beat to get his shot at Floyd?
          He's one-dimensional.

That is the kind of **** we would be hearing now if he had fought Margarito instead of Baldomir.

Baldomir was on an incredible hotstreak when he fought Mayweather. Certainly Baldomir's win over Judah is better than Margarito's wins over Clottey and Cintron, at least at that time. Since then, we have seen that Cintron might actually be a hot item. Clottey is still quite unproven.

Really? Some unknown Argentine fighter who beats 20-1 favorite Zab Judah, then knocks out favorite Arturo Gatti is on a hotstreak.

He was The Ring champion at 147, I think that qualifies as a hotstreak.

He fought a man notorious for lacking focus.
Judah threw the fight away more than Baldy won it.
As for Gatti.....the guy was not a true Welter nor was he ever world class.
I have nothing against Baldomir but any other time in History he would never have been champ.
There are also better fighters than him at 147 whether he held the belts or not.

Can you tell me when Judah lost a fight due to lack of focus before Baldomir?

I understand what you are saying, your criticism is that Baldomir sucks and Mayweather shouldn't have fought him.

My counter-argument is that there is no way for Floyd to know that Baldomir had gotten extremely lucky with timing and opposition to get where he was at in the 147 division.
