You ever think about why they'd offer that much? Probably because they estimate like $60 million in revenue....they're not gonna do him any favors I'm sure.canelo
6mil vs khan ($3.5mil guaranteed + ppv)
7mil vs cotto (5 mil guaranteed + ppv
vs smith (3.5mil guaranteed +ppv (not much))
GGG
1.5ml vs monroe
2.mil vs lemiux (1.5 + ppv)
2 mil vs wade no ppv
5 mil vs brooke no ppv
$10 mill flat fee guaranteed , looks pretty darn good to me.Comment

Deal with the fact Golovkin became the businessman his fans said he would never be lol overnight too. Golovkin and his team are holding back the fight at this point.Comment

There are only a couple reasons Canelo's side would want to negotiate a year out.
1. They know that they look really bad for vacating the belt and ducking Golovkin, and aside from the GGG hating trolls on this site, the majority of boxing fans know that's exactly what happened. The Canelo-Smith PPV numbers show that he isn't popular enough to sell mismatches. So they make a lot of noise about wanting the fight (not in May of course but a full year from now) so they sound like they really want it.
2. They know Golovkin will become more popular in the next year when he is likely to face Jacobs (next best MW) Saunders (unify all the belts) and a third fighter (Andy Lee or Eubanks both seem possible and entertaining), whereas Canelo is going to only fight once, against a middleweight who probably isn't top 5. His trainer has said he won't fight slick guys like Monroe, which means they don't want Saunders either. So who is he going to fight? Some no-hoper like Rosado. So it makes sense to try and lock Golovkin in now instead of later, when he coulf demand a higher percentage.Comment

Typically when the contracts are negotiated via the media its BS.
If the fight makes financial sense it will get done. Canelo facing low competition and making money has to have more incentive because of the risk. If I was triple G I would take a solid offer and beat Canelo to steal his thunderComment

GGG lied and said they would lowball him with 2 million when he knew full well there was a 10 million dollar offer on the table. That tells me GGG doesn't want the fight.Comment

How can they hold back a fight that Canelo's people insist happen next September at earliest. They could make that fight for february or may, but it has to be no earlier than September because...Comment

And Canelo won't see he close to that! He gets usually around $8 million plus PPV and endorsements.
Jordon Brand I'm sure would kick GGG down some SERIOUS $$$$. That's a lot of publicity he would bring with a fight against Canelo.Comment

I see GGG winning the fight right now, but from what I've been watching I think the fight isn't a walkover in the park for GGG, and come Sep 2017 the fight could be a truly 50-50 fight, I've seen a lot of boxers and trainers in recent reports are starting to pick this fight as a more competitive one.
Hope they both step up in the ring ASAP.Comment
