Yes canelo makes a good living but I personally don't care about finances. A fight should never not be made because on fighter wants to be greedy.
Golovkin has the fight that he seems to want, and has an offer to take the fight for apparently three times the money he's ever seen for a fight in his life.
And you want to talk about greedy?

You want to talk about greed...you have no idea nor do any of us how these guys split their money and where all their money comes from. There is more to a fight than gate and ppv's, sponsors pony up a fk ton of money. So yeah he should make ten when the other guy easily quadruples that, but let's ignore the fact that no other fighter from 147 to 175 gets Canelo that kind of payday except Golovkin...
Golovkin is still running 14k-seat setups in Los Angeles, the city where he and his camp have based his entire operation! He had to resort to 2 for $40 deals to actually fill in MSG.
Golovkin does nowhere near the business to justify dictating **** about ****.
If your ****** enough to literally have someone, come raise time, show up and ask for the moon, with you actually being willing to listen to the request, it's a credit to your family that you're not in business.

Canelo as big and famous as he is had Khan in front of him and couldn't crack half a million buys. Cotto brought in a huge Puerto Rican fan base to those buys between them, one could argue Cotto was the actual draw there. So unless you can find a fighter from 147 to 175 that can get Canelo over the hump your point is completely pointless.
Let that sink in for a moment; after barely being able to do 100k PPV buys, you are here trying to argue that Golovkin would be twice the star that Cotto was on PPV.
Alvarez-Golovkin likely doesn't do $60m on PPV, even after all of the bells and whistles (in case you missed that, you net that out to maybe $25m for the fighters to share); you add in the share of the site fee from another fight at JerryLand, the Mexico TV, the rest of the international TV money, and other revenues and you're probably looking at the fighters sharing $40m on the entire fight.
With Golovkin already balking at $10m for the fight, how in the heck is Alvarez supposed to pay Golovkin and still get $50m?

My man clearly you've never been to a mega fight in person. Do you understand how many motherloving sponsors alone sign up for one? This is a mega fight to the letter. It's the only real mega fight in the sport right now, Kovalev vs Ward is a good fight, an interesting fight but it's not a mega fight. Between the rebroadcast rights outside of the states, the sponsors, the merchandise, what the arena pays for the event, the gate, the ppv money..50 million bucks is not that far fetched for Canelo take home after GBP's cut and this is a million ppv seller at the least. I loathe talking finances in sports with folks because your views are all so linear, but try to at least grasp the full picture for once bruh. This fight does five to ten million easily on sponsors alone. Hell I got a cool 100k for them right now to get my damn company name on any piece of marketing for that fight.
