Comments Thread For: Tommy Morrison's Son Hopes To Emerge From Dad's Enormous Shadow

By Keith Idec - Trey Lippe-Morrison laughs whenever he watches footage from his first professional fight. Literally. That's how bad Lippe-Morrison feels he was when he made his pro debut in February 2014. The son of the late Tommy Morrison stopped Kris Renty in the second round of his pro debut...

Cool, I'll check it out. But of course the kid is 11-0 with 11KOs, he's from Oklahoma!

His dad had solid skills, and was clearly up on Mercer before the near decapitation. I remember going into a Kinko's in 94 and seeing Sean O'Grady in there. No one in the place knew who he was except me, and we chatted a bit about Tommy and I got him to sign my day planner, lol. Those were the days....

O'Grady was the best commentator ,he just didnt state the obvious or say what a fighter was doing wrong he really knew how to break fights down he was a boxing Joe Rogan (UFC) .A bit surprised he never was offered on a HBO or Showtime network as a commentator he made those guys look like amateurs .

Morrison looking real good under Roach ,hes going to go a long way .Always helps having boxing genetics and looking very powerful with superior athletics on your side and a real trainer like roach ,hes already created a course that will land him on the higher food chain sooner than later .

I miss Sean O'Grady and Al Albert too. I remember being a kid watching Tuesday Night Fights on USA with my dad. Boxing and life in general just seemed much more simple back in those days. Good times.

Anyways, I hope Morrison's son can really do something in the future. I was a big Tommy Morrison fan back in the day. I rooted for him in every fight, except against Lennox Lewis. His fight against Carl "the Truth" Williams was probably my favorite fight of his. That Michael Bentt KO lost was heartbreaking.

Not trying to be too critical but I started reading the story because of the headline and it's potential. When I got to the end I felt a bit of a letdown. There were so many more answers I wanted to hear and angles the writer could have explored. Dang!

Well if he has a good chin and stamina then he can get out of daddy's shadows cause senior didn't have that but another problem is the heavyweights now are even bigger than they were in the late 80's and 90's.

I wish him well. He started rather late to the game but with Freddy Roach, maybe Morrison can make a run of it.

The guy has a lot to learn with many easy setups within those first 11 and roaches very very overrated as a trainer not even in the top 5 in my book in the present generation...
