After seeing Canelo's numbers consistently drop, and GGG's pathetic numbers, and combining that with Crawford vs. Postol, and Pacquiao vs. Bradley III, I doubt that Canelo vs. GGG is a $100 million dollar event. So yes, if I were GGG, I would take the $10 million dollars!

$10 mil seems like a decent offer to me, but I haven't even got a guesstimate of what the total revenue would be so it could be way off the mark.
No one does! Not Oscar, not Loeffler. It's all "guesstimates!" That's why I take the $10 million dollars! There's always time for a rematch! Canelo is only 26!

I agree. I haven't watched much boxing due to lack of real talents. Boxing is more like a tough-man contest now with fighters trying to have a size advantage using weight. Canelo is one of the obvious like Chavez Jr. Casuals is not going to be fooled into buying anymore PPVs after realizing they've been scammed by Mayweather/Pacquiao. Floyd pulled off a robbery on those who paid. Almost all fighters are only in it for the money. They lie constantly about "wanting to fight" the best. Hell, the fighters are con-artists. Once in a blue moon we have a legit fight like Kovalev/Ward.

There's no more Superstars. Boxing doesn't have many skilled fighters. A lot doesn't speak ENGLISH. You're working in America selling tickets and PPV, you gotta learn ENGLISH. And you have to be a really GREAT fighter. Canelo is not. Dude is ugly and can't speak any ENGLISH. Then, we have Black fighters who run around the ring and act like a juvenile delinquent outside the ring.

There's no need for guesswork. Just agree on a reasonable percentage, it's standard

              • Everyone wants to replicate Floyd's career trajectory and that will end up killing the sport.

The entire notion of promoting fighters and not fights is choking out the sport.

It worked for Floyd, but he also got some really legit big wins under his belt before Haymon became the architect for the rest of his career at welterweight and junior middleweight.

Canelo with de la Hoya is not going to even come close to Mayweather with Haymon's level of financial success trying to implement their exact same marketing strategy (in my opinion). They're just going to finally drive away the hardcore fans that have already been taken for granted for a long time.

Lots of articles have dropped about all of this same stuff since last weekend. They tried to sell snake oil and if it did over 200k buys then that's already more than they deserve by a huge margin. Boxing fans have maybe never been this fatigued by the sport.

Boxing fans always complain and never do **** about it. Instead they just help the promoters get away with bull****.
