I'd honestly wait till this coming Saturday before making such a statement. Alvarez's two debut PPV did over 300k PPV buys and the Khan fight apparently did 600k PPV buys.No matter what it is, it won't get to 200k probably. That should be a lesson to fighters, you can't just fight Jon Doe on PPV and expect even your craziest fans to buy it. The lower the number the better, because that will put pressure on them to make better fights. Giving us FNF caliber fights on PPV is abuse
The fact that Alvarez was able to put over 50k people into AT&T Stadium, makes it pretty obvious that Alvarez is a clear draw.
How are you going to react when the number comes out and it's over 500k PPV buys?Comment

The real numbers for the khan fight were just under 300k and under 700k for the cotto fight. Oscar has become a pathological liar his numbers are always inflated. They were saying they only had 36k tickets sold hoping for over 40k and now there claiming 51k atteneded.I'd honestly wait till this coming Saturday before making such a statement. Yes, he said that. But he doesn't have the lying reputation compared to Arum and especially Oscar.
Fight-hype was actually the first site to report that number, and then espn reported a similiar number...so that number is probably pretty close to reality.
the "97K" bs was from a Glaser (who has no connections in boxing or television) tweet, which should only be taken as a joke.
Canelo-Smith numbers won't be good, but they should end up around 150-200K at worst, right?Comment
