District 9 also has a selfish interest in this. They don't want their Tribal Chief to be exposed and then forced to fight Gennady.

And while not fight related, keep in mind that Golovkin was in contract dispute with his promoter and moved himself and his whole family to a different country TWICE. That is more risks than 99% of fighters ever take.
Using this logic, does Canelo also get credit for Paul Williams and Joshua Clottey? Those fights has SIGNED contracts.
Hell, does Mayweather now get credit for negotiations with Winky Wright?

Nobody is getting "credit" for anything. But when you say "Golovkin refuses to take risks", and refuse to acknowledge that Froch retired after saying he's 'too big, too strong', or that Floyd didn't take the fight after saying Golovkin is 'easy work', someone's gotta step in and put things into context.
Just to be CLEAR - I don't blame either Floyd or Froch for retiring, that's their right and they deserve it. Just don't act like the possibility wasn't there.

Therefore anything Floyd says about the GGG-Canelo situation should be taken with a grain of salt. Floyd wants Canelo to wait till GGG gets old and then beat him, because it benefits Floyd himself.

Now look at GGG, never took no risks, acting like the A side with Canelo when he's clearly not while being criticized by more than 70% of the boxing fans for his resume and still not trying to make any concessions to make the big fights happen, why is he better than all the fighters before him that took risks to become stars in boxing? if he wants to be great then he needs to go through the same process, that's just fair and that's what Floyd means when he says Canelo doesn't owe GGG anything, GGG needs him and he's supposed to do whatever it takes to make the fight if he's confident in winning.
Oscar made $52 million and Floyd made $25 million. That would make it a 67/33 split, not 90/10.

If Golovkin wants to get to where Alvarez is, Golovkin needs to earn his way to that level. He has not earned it yet and will not earn it fighting the Willie Munroe's of the world. Erislandy Lara, who already fought Alvarez, has been calling out Golovkin for a year. If Golovkin had fought Erislanda Lara instead of Munroe, Golovkin could have made a better argument for a fight with Alvarez.

Fans would be demanding a GGG-Floyd match as long as GGG is at MW and Floyd is being called JMW champ by the sanctioning bodies, even if he rarely fights at JMW
After the Pac-Floyd dud, GGG-Floyd was the next big match in boxing, fans were already putting on the pressure on Floyd, and he was having none of that, because he knows GGG would wreck him.
People were already demanding for the match, Floyd calls himself TBE so naturally, after finally manning up and fighting Pac, GGG was the next big challenge for this pretender. that's why he had to retire
If GGG moves up from MW, the match is no longer doable, that's why Floyd wants GGG to move up to SMW and LHW ¨ so badly
The moment GGG moves up to SMW and is unable to ever make 154, that's the moment when Floyd will announce his comeback to get the craved ¨50-0¨, which he'll get against some bumLast edited by lopetego; 09-21-2016, 12:50 AM.
