And yes, there will still be corruption. But there is corruption now. Arguing otherwise is pointless. If they step out of line too much, and their brand loses value, then they leave room for another organisation to fill the space.

It is. they set ticket prices, secure venues, negotiate tv deals. they do everything a promoter does. The "sham" promoters like DiBella, Warriors, etc are just paid a flat fee which makes them essentially a site coordinator.

They aren't out "promoting" the fight, working to sell tickets. They could careless and have no vested interest in selling more tickets, tv deals etc. They get their flat fee and that is it where if they were actually promoting their own show they would have their own $ on the line and approach it vastly different.

I can't take you serious when you make statements like "sham" promoters. Come back when you're ready for a serious conversation.

That is the type of answer you give when you are schooled. Those promoters do nothing to promote the fights and you know it. But whatever makes you feel good

a "promoter" who is paid a flat salary and has no financial risk in the promotion is NOT a promoter, he is (as you correctly pointed out) a contracted site coordinator (who just happens to hold a promoters license).......

The problem with PBC has been the inconsistent schedule..

You are never going to build an audience when your TV schedule is all over the place. If they were going to do all these time-buys they should have focused on one network like spikeTV and bought every Saturday night for the next 2 years.. SpikeTV has a big presence in combat sports, their Friday nights are filled with bellator and kickboxing, would have been a great leadin to capture casual fight fans for Saturday..

They spent all this money, but have nothing to show for it,, they didn't even need to show profit, just growth. Growth is key in private equity. But they have had literally no growth. Guys like thurman, danny, wilder, stevenson, etc are in the exact same place as they were when pbc first started..

Pbc has other issues as well, but their main problem is TV schedule and lack of growing an audience
That's the sad part. None of the PBC fighters became PPV stars. They're even rotting at this point. Now they need tuneup fights for the long layoff. Rinse and repeat.
