Ward vs Kovalev is the biggest fight in boxing since?

Not in a commercial sense but in a boxing sense.

Is not the biggest fight, is the most significant fight. maybe since ODL vs Trinidad? I remeber that was huge since both were undefeated and climing the pound for pound rankings.

To a die hard fan this is a big fight. To a casual fan...nobody cares. Ward is basically a unknown fighter. He couldnt fill up a Mc Donalds for a press conference.
Kovalev is a unknown still but has more of a draw due to his activity and marketing on HBO and also his KO power. But still...not a household name ..

Significant is a good word for the fight.

Yeah but both guys had been fighting on a great schedule, beating top top fighters and both were well accomplished at welterweight.

That's just not the case here and there have been more significant fights since than Ward/Kov.

If we are talking about significant fights than Pac/May but if we are talking when both fighters are elite, P4P fighters that are in their prime and the winner will most lilely be the #1 fighter in the world? Not too sure tbh. It's been awhile since we got that sadly.
