Let's do this next year!
Yep, that's a good analogy. Not D level drawing power like Ward, but certainly not anywhere near Canelo drawing power. There have been GGG-aholics actually saying he drew 97K vs Brook. As if he had much of anything to do with the 97K draw.Comment

Let's assume the offer is for 10 mil plus 5% of PPV's. Let's also assume it does 2 million buys (at 70 bucks more or less) 5% of those buys is 7 mil. So GGG would take home about 17 mil. Granted, he's the B side, BUT he can reasonably get 75-35 (Maybe even 60-40) of a let's say... 80 mil pot... on the low end (35%) he can walk way with 24 mil. I want the fight to happen like everyone else, but if he can make an extra 7 mil for the fight why not make it. This coming from a Canelo fan.Comment

However if oscar cant give the full details of the offer then he should say nothing. Usually promoters and fighters stay quiet when real negotiations are taking place. Oscar opening up about offers being made clearly shows he's not serious about negotiations.
This is the biggest fight in boxing. Flat fees dont cut it in these type of situations. He says golovkin will get ppv upside, but doesnt say how much? Its also not specified when the match will take place?
It all boils down to the fact that actions speak louder than words. Canelo said he would fight golovkin. Then he dropped the title. He got heat so he said he would fight him at 155. He still got heat so he moved back to 154. He couldnt make 154 without illegal substances so he dropped vada. Now he talks about an offer that was made a month ago but he cant give the specifics.
Promoters are either quiet and negotiating or they talk about the deal and kill negotiations. Oscar spoiled the deal the moment he opened his mouth. He wants to make it seem like ggg ducked, but he wont give the details because he knows that would show it wasnt a fair offer. Golovkin's team hasnt given the details yet because that would totally kill negotiations. They also probably want to see the ggg/brook ppv figures.Comment

Who is to say that Oscar isn't offering 6 million with ppv upside that will send it past 10 million, and golden boy would guarantee that amount, this fight certainly has the potential to make 200 million+. Considering there has been so many different stories coming from goldenboy, I can only see this as being a PR stunt to turn the bad press around, Oscar made canelo put the fishnets on and it's definately hurt canelos image, I think Oscar has no intentions of offering an amount that k2 would accept, this will drag out for yearsComment

We don't know how much truth there is to that, if it was 4 weeks ago the offer was made, then why did Oscar say 2 weeks ago it was a straight flat fee, why did canelo say he'd fight GGG when he was ready 3 weeks ago, way too many contradictions coming from goldenboy to believe anythingComment

That is true, usually the purses are not released to the public.

Hardcore Golovkin fans always criticize what other fighters and their teams do. It's always about what they should do to prove themselves worthy. Whenever the ball is in Team Golovkin court, it's excuses, it's deflection, it's assuming some made up scenario exists. Took them less than a business day to respond to Ward with maybe 2017. What's the problem now?Comment

Team Golovkin has clapped back hard on many things. Particularly Saunders and Eubank. So far the statements from that camp have not denied that they received an offer and even indicate that they have by Loeffler mentioning negotiations in his statement to the LA Times.Comment
