168 is a infinitely weaker division. And Brook as of 2015 was a top 10 p4p fighter doesn't matter what weight division that is. And cut the **** with "muh WW" EVEYBODY knows Brook isn't a WW and that was evident with his 30 day weigh in of 176. Nobody at 168 has a shot at beating GGG besides Zurdo so I could see that fight but that's one fight. Other than that GGG needs to fight Canelo and unify.

Ideally Canelo would fight BJS and if he wins fight GGG who will be fighting Jacobs. But I'd be worried we will likely we'll get Canelo vs Sergei Khomitsky or something. Conventional wisdom says that is the normal thing to do. Guys like Brook jumping up 13 pounds to fight the best fighter in the division was silly really but £3 million pounds for Kell.

I find the criticism of GGG a bit much other than the Kell fight which is a boxing wide problem (fights like that are a bit of a shame but it wouldn't have happened if middleweight were more keen to fight him). It is not like the middleweight division is a wasteland of a division - it is THE middleweight division. Completely clearing out the division is a legacy in itself.

And the Canelo fight is the biggest fight in boxing. It always seems to be that we have to put up with a slew of mismatches and tune-ups first so we'll probably have to see Canelo plough through, Khomitsky, John Jackson, and Andy Lee or something.

GGG and Jacobs is a top fight for the meantime I suppose.

Risks are what made the real greats that great. They did the unthinkable and pulled it off. **** Roy went from 160 to ****ing heavyweight. Abel said he knocks out cruisers and light heavies.............Krusher said it was a lie though. I don't see the problem if he is that powerful which I think he is that one weight class ahead isn't a bad move.
          Totally agree.

I think GGG will fight at 168 at some point. Maybe after losing at 160 or struggling to make 160
He is 35 almost. He won't struggle to make 160 for quite some time. As far as guilt tripping, that's not the case. I think most just want to see if Trip can ascend to greatness like Pacquiao and Mayweather who have won belts in multiple weight classes, especially since the MW division is weak.

Let him unify agains Flounders and establish lineage versus Jacobs, give the guy a pass then it's a definite move to 168, if he clears that place out like he's cleared 160 he's an ATGimo. Dude will mop up at 168 then a feasible catch with Ward after he's beat Kovalev.

Joshua should be harping on DeGale to get busy and start fighting again so Golovkin has a worth while opponent to move up for.

The 30 day weigh in doesn't say jack about what weight class a fighter should be in. It only speaks to the fighters current training status as it relates to his upcoming fight. Brook was a welterweight who signed a contract to fight at middleweight. Based on the amount of muscle he put on at his age, he will probably avoid Spence and fight at JMW.
