I think when people watch Canelo's career, there is one particular style he has always had issues with. I think his team should re-word what they say about that style because they almost make it seem like, even if the opponent is not on Canelo's level skill wise, we're not going to fight them because that "bad/non-entertaining" boxer may make Canelo look bad.......

I'd like to see Canelo definitively beat a boxer with good movement, but it seems to me like we will never know if he will be capable of doing that.

I just think it's a bad look to reference one of your closest fights that some believe you lost due to a particular style and then continue to avoid that same style throughout your career.

what is the point of canelo? he won't fight the best at 154 or 160. he's just cherry picking back and forth looking for face first brawlers like smith to fight. that dude was so bummy I can't believe it. he had no business getting ko'd but he kept standing right in front of canelo when he had a glass body. Monroe would easily outpoint the 5'6 canelo.

willie monroe would give canelo problems if his chin would hold up.

styles make fights. monroe jr is a cutie who knows how to use the ring, and canelo's footwork just isn't that good for a top flight fighter. he's also not a traditional pressure fighter. he can pressure, but he's not a traditional mexican lifetaker. canelo likes to box at a steady pace and land counterpunches and power shots in combination. he'd have problems with monroe's style.

if rosado had won that fight they'd be announcing canelo - rosado in a few weeks

              I'm pleased with this.

Monroe just isn't very good, he's a poor version of the fighter he tries to be. It's not an interesting fight, it's not for a belt, it's not really anything.

Statements like this would hold a lot more weight if he hadnt just fought Khan and Smith this year.

liam smith's best win was against john Thompson, a guy who was schooled by Monroe. oh yeah Thompson also won the first 5 rounds against liam.

Canelo will be outclassed by Eubank jr.
