PPV, TV dates, purses are play a factor in inactivity. Besides, if you making six figures plus per fight what's the incentive to take more punches than you need to?

The incentive to beat top fighters no longer exists. It doesn't have any value anymore. Most of them start from the premise of getting beat and thus they have to be paid millions of dollars right away.

Real fighters don't focused on getting beat. They're focused on beating their opponent. Then the $$$$ follow.

That's why you rarely see fighters manage themselves. Because they will take on fights they are not ready for and have no career. Managers dictate a fighters career and bring them along as they see fit.

You're dreaming if you expect these new breed of fighters to fight 3-4 times a year when 2x a year is a struggle. This is not going to end until Haymon runs out of money giving away millions of dollars for meaningless fights.

I'd say this is 100% true. Not sure why he's doing this TBH.

Forget the big names fighting twice a year, we barely get prospects fighting more than 3 times a year. It's one of the reasons why young fighters take so long to even get to the world level and once they do get there, they can't stay there because they don't have that experience and the tough upbringing of old.

A lot of fights are long overdue at the PBC camp. If no fights are announced till October, then many of them will become one fight a year fighters. Nobody knows what's happening.

It ridiculous, and out of the two fights usually there's one fight against a bum. No excuse for not fighting four times a year unless you've been In a real hard grueling fight

Seems it's gotten to a point where these fighters won't accept risky fights unless they're paid $2 million or more. Most likely these clowns were offered big name fighters and Haymon could only offer less than $1 mil.

That's the way I look at it. Hey, if you just went through Barrera-Morales or something, fine. Take some time off, but twice a year just isn't enough to build a career- especially these guys in their 20s.
