Like I said. He'd been inactive for two years. He's not coming off a two year lay off with a Smith fight and then fight Kovalev. If he just wanted a cash grab like Brook he would've fought Kovalev coming off the two year lay off

where do you get your info? they didn't have to fight. the contract was dead when judah lost. they had to redo it so they could still fight which was a joke and everyone knew it.

The facts are plenty of fights have been signed with interim fights in between.

          De la hoya vs hopkins
          Mayweather vs judah
          Morales vs pacquiao 2
          Hopkins vs jones jr 2

          Just to name a few.

In a couple of those examples a fighter lost the tune up.

You say it gives them incentive to fight weak opposition well if that's the case GGG can continue fighting his regular competition until the fight

so fighting 3 bums in a row for millinos isn't a cash grab? if he wanted tune ups he could have taken them anywhere anytime for a lot less. its not like the kovalev fight is a huge money fight for him so not sure why you are saying its a cash grab. he already did the cash grab but he had to guarantee to fight kovalev in order to do it.
