Exactly. But the difference is that Canelo wanted the fight and believed he could win, and he did. That catapulted him to the unquestionable #1 PPV star in the sport.

If ggg wanted this fight and thought he could win, he would have the same mentality. Take the fight now, albeit not the terms that he wants, win the fight, then become the P4P #1 and the biggest PPV draw. Not to mention, he would make it all back, plus more in the rematch.

When Frank Warren kept saying Smith was going to win and all of the Brits were saying he was going to shock him I was thinking, no way. Just not enough experience and big wins. Great win for Canelo, but doesn't really mean much in competition to fight GGG. They know they're waiting him out with the age game. Sad that boxing is turning into a soap opera.

You offered the fight a month ago, so why did you vacate? why did your promoter say you will make a verbal agreement to fight late 2017? why did your promoter say you're not ready for 160 yet and need time to grow. Such lies. Have some respect for the fans and don't insult their intelligence.

If they did offer anything, it'll probably be that "verbal contract" for next year, which means nothing.

Sure: team Canelo said he will probably take one more fight this year and one in May 2017. The verbal offer presumably was for Sep 2017. Therefore, team GGG has enough time to agree or to further negotiate.
