And what has Juan Diaz done lately?

Fair or not, Diaz is by far the biggest name in the lightweight division, regardless of what he has done recently.. By far the biggest draw and most accomplished at 135

Flanagan isn't a star over here, they are probably expecting an unrealistic amount like a million.

When he was active back in the day he was not the biggest name nor was he the most accomplished at 135!

It was not true then and it certainly is not true today.

Heck did not even know he was still alive let alone be active as a fighter.

So for him to be in discussions for a world title fight out of no where is ...well near comical but then this is boxing. As long as it is not a mandatory, champs can pretty much pick whoever they want to fight.

This is coming from a fan who has always had the utmost respect for Diaz.
He gave us some of the most exciting fights one could hope for from someone who could barely crack an egg.

He over accomplished which is no small feat in this business.

But he certainly was not the most accomplished in the division!!!

        Lets not get carried away.

Best of luck to him though
