Americans have a much higher standard for boxers than just "be from the same place I am."

We've been spoiled by the 20th century model of all the best boxers in the world coming to America to make it.

That is both a good and bad thing.

And America's so massive that it's hard to feel kinship with entirely separate parts of the country that live in different ways with different laws and different cultures. I live in Florida and I can barely relate to 50% of my state, let alone every other ****ing state. A good portion of the reason I'm a Keith Thurman fan is because he's from the Tampa Bay area. Same with Winky Wright back in the day. I'm especially proud of Roy Jones because he's from Florida. That's about as nationalistic as I get.

It's like asking a Brit to support an Italian just because they both live in Europe.

Some of us Americans are boxing fans and not ****s like yourself. Ward's style is horrendous like the overrated ugly Hopkins he's trying to emulate. The Olympics have nothing to do with professional boxing. The Olympics is country vs country.
