Is GGG/Jacobs more competitive than GGG/Canelo?

Ostensibly, Jacobs seems like a bigger puncher than Canelo, is coming off of a streak of KO's, and is a natural middleweight. So it would seem that he is the bigger challenge for GGG even though Canelo is clearly the bigger event. However, I don't think Jacobs has the chin that Canelo has, so if GGG lands something big early, it might be over quick (although maybe I'm wrong to think this)... whereas Canelo/GGG will be a 12 round blood bath, because we know Canelo has a great chin.

In terms of technical skill, Canelo seems better than Jacobs, but again, he doesn't seem to pack the same power. And he won't have a technical advantage over GGG anyways. However, GGG might have a greater technical advantage over Jacobs, but their power is closer...And Jacobs is technically better than Lemieux, who lasted pretty long against GGG. So all things considered, GGG-Jacobs seems closer despite the fact that GGG-Canelo will probably go 12 rounds.

Arguably, but neither is really competitive. GGG is just leagues above both of them.

Both Jacobs and Alvarez are better fighters than anyone Golovkin has ever stepped into the ring with as a pro. Both guys succeed in a lot of ways that will have Golovkin in rough shape, but both guys do so in different ways.

Alvarez is a nasty mofo when he gets to fight on the inside; he's seemingly become quite comfortable catch-and-shoot fighting, his defensive awareness is world's better, and he's got enough of the other skills (better feet, catch/slip the shots, an effective variety jab, good gauge of manipulating punch space) to put himself into position to succeed.

Jacobs is a nasty fighter on the outside coming in; he's got a good long jab, him being comfortable southpaw/orthodox poses another set of challenges, his defense is getting better, and he's a nasty fighter when someone tries to close the distance on him (his ability to shorten his shots, and the variety of shots to the head and body, rarely gets mentioned).

I think your conception of both fights is a bit skewed. Heck, I'd view Alvarez vs Jacobs as a far more interesting matchup.
