Garcia already whooped Khan, Khan was just knocked out by Alvarez, and Khan was looking at jumping straight into the fight with no buffer win.

Thurman likely brings a touch less money for Garcia (then again, what the CBS money could potentially look like...), but the money isn't terrible, the Thurman fight is a better fight, and winning that fight would do more for Garcia's career than whooping Khan again.

Garcia wins that fight and he's 33-0 and, at all of 29 years of age, a two-belt world champion in two weight classes, arguably the best fighter at 147lbs (with Errol Spence nipping at his heels, and Kell Brook up at 154lbs).

Young, handsome, Puerto Rican American fighter who can fight, with a solid foundation already established at Barclays Center, and you're likely looking at the new money fighter at 147lbs.

Beyond that, taking a look down the current WBC 147 rankings, how many of those names could Amir Khan earnestly defeat (with the Garcia mandatory at least 16 months away from his KO defeat, he's got to fight someone to keep the rust off)?

It will be dead even but i bet Thurman will fight his mando & stay active against that Armenyan dude then I think Thurman would remain the favorite. That said DSG shouldve been calling for PacMan. If he beat Pacman in his twilight DSG would a star and would fight whoever he wants next. Itd be awesome if Vargas ko's pac & we got a Vargas vs DSG & thurman had to fight Spencer.
Lol, yeah, but Manny would literally beat the **** out of Danny "****" Garcia

Thurman, Spence, Brook (if he weren't at 154), Porter, and I wouldn't put it passed berto to ALL beat garcia...Either way, he's not even close to the best at 147.

Danny Garcia simply needs to be the best Danny Garcia; a fight against John Molina puts him in the gym for a hard 10-week to 12-week fight camp of sharpening skills (and keeping the weight in check, as there's only so much you can do with simply keeping fit).

The real concern is Thurman simply sitting things out; Danny Garcia isn't an easy guy to prepare for either.

Thurman recently said on twitter he definitely wants to fight again this year, so sitting out isn't his decision.

If Garcia fights Molina next I will stop supporting him. Even if he wins his next fight they will say they have to honor Khan's mandatory position instead of fighting Thurman.

                  Thurman/Garcia is not happening

Oscar De La Hoya became the money draw that he was because he could fight, but also because he was a handsome guy out of East LA that Top Rank could market heavy to the Mexican American audience (with the Mexican audience coming very slowly behind that).

Say what you want but Danny Garcia, if he's able to beat Keith Thurman, is positioned to be that same fighter for the Puerto Rican American audience (if he can get in there with Cotto, and whoop that ass, he may also bring along the Puerto Rican audience).

With NY/NJ being home to over 1.5m Puerto Ricans, and Garcia's home city having the next biggest population of Puerto Ricans in mainland USA, the target audience is clear. You add that Danny Garcia also has pretty good cache in urban communities everywhere, and you should probably keep that latent ****sexuality to yourself.
