If your a fan of boxing, your gonna wanna see the fight regardless if its a mismatch or not. Now its your choice if you choose to pay to watch it live. This isnt the type of fight i would personally pay for, but canelo has a big enough fan base that are willing to open their wallets up just to see him, same goes for pacquiao and mayweather. Everyone else needs a compelling matchup to sell the fight, even cotto needs someone interesting to sell his fights.

I agree in the sense of Floyd and Manny, but Nelo himself kinda needs a dance partner too for big numbers like he got with Cotto and Floyd. The Khan fight did lower naturally than the Cotto fight and if this does even less than Khan (which seems likely), we might have to pause a bit at looking at Nelo in the same light as Manny and Floyd when it concerns PPV buys against outmatched opponents.Comment

Golovkin-Brook is a much worse matchup than Alvarez-Smith, and that's without much question (Liam Smith isn't a bum, both fighters are basically going to walk into the ring the same size, and both guys come forward to fight).
Funny thing about boycotts though is that I'd see it as being fair to guess that you weren't on here, calling for a boycott of Golovkin-Lemieux though. ($100 ticket to both event and, without much question, this weekend's Alvarez show is better value that the Golovkin PPV)Comment

This article has excellent point in saying that there are very good boxers like GGG, Thurman, Khan and others that are not PPV fighters but give great fights. As for stars who will be on PPV and hold it down... its probably Anthony Joshua who has the looks, personality and fan friendly fight style to have casuals and hardcores pay to see his fights thats provided he keeps winning and KOing his opponents until he has a solid position in the sport.Comment
