If your a fan of boxing, your gonna wanna see the fight regardless if its a mismatch or not. Now its your choice if you choose to pay to watch it live. This isnt the type of fight i would personally pay for, but canelo has a big enough fan base that are willing to open their wallets up just to see him, same goes for pacquiao and mayweather. Everyone else needs a compelling matchup to sell the fight, even cotto needs someone interesting to sell his fights.

Seriously...if you're still buying PPV in 2016 with all the availability to watch free Live Streams in 1080P HD

I agree in the sense of Floyd and Manny, but Nelo himself kinda needs a dance partner too for big numbers like he got with Cotto and Floyd. The Khan fight did lower naturally than the Cotto fight and if this does even less than Khan (which seems likely), we might have to pause a bit at looking at Nelo in the same light as Manny and Floyd when it concerns PPV buys against outmatched opponents.

I like tuna too, but I'm not paying steak prices for it.

Dont know why they dont just drop the price to $29 for matchups like this. It would help for the sport of boxing in the long run.

Mexicans love boxing and will ride for their best fighter, and right nows its canelo until he gets embarrassed. Also fighting on Mexican holidays will help his sales.

Funny thing about boycotts though is that I'd see it as being fair to guess that you weren't on here, calling for a boycott of Golovkin-Lemieux though. ($100 ticket to both event and, without much question, this weekend's Alvarez show is better value that the Golovkin PPV)
I'm no Angel! I did purchase GGG vs. Lemieux, and Canelo vs. Khan, but until Canelo or GGG fight each other, I'm not ****ing with them! My money will go to Kovalev vs. Ward, and that's it! I thank GOD that Al Haymon has given us real gems for free! Now I feel like if these PPVs are no better than what I'm watching on network TV and Cable, then i'm not paying for them! Give me Vargas vs. Salido II, Thurman vs. Porter II, LSC vs. Frampton II, Easter Jr. vs. Comney II! **** Crawford vs. Postol, **** Canelo vs. Smith, and **** Pacquiao vs. Vargas! And if Cotto is fighting Lamont Peterson, then **** Cotto too!

Its not that bad of a fight.
Smith might not be that good but neither is canelo

This article has excellent point in saying that there are very good boxers like GGG, Thurman, Khan and others that are not PPV fighters but give great fights. As for stars who will be on PPV and hold it down... its probably Anthony Joshua who has the looks, personality and fan friendly fight style to have casuals and hardcores pay to see his fights thats provided he keeps winning and KOing his opponents until he has a solid position in the sport.
