And it's an absolutely ****** business move because until Canelo fights Golovkin, he will be perceived by the general public as a coward and many people will not pay to see him fight anyone other than Golovkin. Just look at any Canelo thread or look at his twitter account. Everyone thinks he is a chicken.

You keep saying Canelo is SWW. Who is the current Ring and Lineal MW champ? Who is the former WBC MW champ? Besides this one off fight, what division has Canelo fought at for the last 3 years? Keep telling yourself that Canelo is SWW...

This 100%. When you have legends from the man's own country shaming him (JCC etc), it is VERY surprising that you still have fans somehow trying to defend this duck. Apparently these old-timers fail to understand that 155, when my body is ready, GGG-'who is he', don't constitute 'fu%king around'.

To be fair, I think the impact of Canelo's duck on his brand is somewhat overblown. How he does on the PPV buy side of things with Liam Smith (who?) will give us a good idea.

Canelo never should have invited GGG into the ring and told him he'd put the gloves on at 160 right then and there because Mexicans don't mess around. ****** move on his part but again, not sure what impact it has on his (largely casual) fan-base.

Still, a duck is a duck and Canelo's quacking at this point is pretty annoying.

Its called casuals, and those are the ones that run boxing, hardore like us really mean very little, boxers dont really get much out of us... i already told others before, canelo gets little to no backlash from the casuals , they barely know who ggg is...

i agree with many of your points, the ppv should do around the lara fight neighborhood imo, 300k or so, mainly cuz smith is unknown for casuals, but i might be wrong i predicted 40k on ticket sales and is looking like is going to be around 50k, but then again lots of mexicans in the area and they rarely get a fight like this there, so even if the opposition is unknown, they will show just to dont miss on the event..

business moves are a part of this sport and Team Canelo made this one in the worst way...he's young and impetuous at times so he called GGG in the ring...but im guessing GPB was like ooooh no keep this gravy train rollin'...yall see how GPB did their best to keep them apart once GGG came into the ring !!
