I'd make out like i would call the fight off so i had leverage, but defo would still fight.

No sense in calling it off really
If he loses, the belt is vacant. So he doesn't keep it.

I don't think he'd get anything without taking legal action which could take time. Maybe GBP would just settle straight away but thinking about the Corrales-Castillo III situation DC had to sue to get $$. Also I don't think Wilder has gotten paid anything from the cancelled Povetkin fight.

yeah right if I had a dollar for every camp that said this when fighting known fighters with a history of missing weight in championship fights (something I don't believe Canelo has ever done) only to turn around take a couple extra bucks rather then lose their entire purse by canceling the fight. Hell If Canelo came in 4 pounds over they would still take the paper and fight. LMAO Canelo will make weight this is just mind games to the Canelo camp. Canelo would have to come in 10 pounds over the limit for these guys to walk away from a career payday.

But the difference is Liam Smith is the champ. If he wasn't the champ than he'd be losing that. But he's the Titleist this go around.

I don't anticipate this being an issue. It is likely why the VADA testing was pulled. Canelo will only be tested by the TX Commission, who would allow Alvarez to put lead in his gloves should he choose to. If Canelo has any issues with weight he will simply use a diuretic and then an IV to rehydrate.

Canelo is sucking rocks to keep from drinking water now. Weight is heavy on his mind. Nuisance fire, that's all, shoot another one across his bow. Worry him to death.
