On what platform did people miss this fight? What was the expected platform. Do they count streams for the metrics?

Had he went up in weight to fight ward and won he would increased his star power. Had he dropped weight to get the Canelo fight now and won same thing. Now both Ward and Canelo are fighting on HBO PPV in 2016 where as GGG is forced to travel to the UK and beg their fighters to allow him to be their B side. Part of the problem with GGG's career is the people around him and their unwillingness to budge to make fights fans want to see. If you can't get meaningful fights at 160 he should of moved up or down for big fights YEARS ago. Now he's stuck waiting ATLEAST another year waiting for Canelo to do what he refuses to do himself...MOVE UP. Difference is Canelo is only 26 and already a big star he has time. GGG is 35 and talked about moving up half a decade ago. Passing on Ward back in 2015 was a mistake and trying to dictate terms to Canelo was an even bigger one.

So about 1.4 million to 1.5 million between the two broadcasts. Pretty good numbers I expect the haters to say you can't put the two numbers together because there's certainly no chance different people watched at 4:30 and 10:30

This was the so called biggest fight of GGG's career yet it did worse then his own AFTERNOON fight last year against Murray. And far worse then HBO's afternoon fight last dec with Fury. No way to spin it these ratings stink and prove GGG is not the draw you been screaming about for months. There is a reason he flopped on HBO PPV and why HBO refuses to give him another PPV date UNLESS it's with canelo. His fanbase is very limited just among hardcore boxing fans. Casual fans could care less about him.

But I am disappointed, I was hoping for an improvement over the Murray fight (862k). The 20k drop is insignificant, essentially means no improvement on the brand. If I'm Nelson/Loeffler, I say leverage a deal with Jacobs/Haymon to let their fight go on NBC/CBS/FOX. Give Golovkin a chance to increase his exposure.

It's sounding imminent that Golovkin/Saunders is happening next, so we'll get a quick turn-around comparison on these afternoon numbers.
Ah, thanks for posting. I was just wondering for comparisons sake what the Friday night Spike numbers were compared to GGG's afternoon HBO broadcast.
