Had he went up in weight to fight ward and won he would increased his star power. Had he dropped weight to get the Canelo fight now and won same thing. Now both Ward and Canelo are fighting on HBO PPV in 2016 where as GGG is forced to travel to the UK and beg their fighters to allow him to be their B side. Part of the problem with GGG's career is the people around him and their unwillingness to budge to make fights fans want to see. If you can't get meaningful fights at 160 he should of moved up or down for big fights YEARS ago. Now he's stuck waiting ATLEAST another year waiting for Canelo to do what he refuses to do himself...MOVE UP. Difference is Canelo is only 26 and already a big star he has time. GGG is 35 and talked about moving up half a decade ago. Passing on Ward back in 2015 was a mistake and trying to dictate terms to Canelo was an even bigger one.

So about 1.4 million to 1.5 million between the two broadcasts. Pretty good numbers I expect the haters to say you can't put the two numbers together because there's certainly no chance different people watched at 4:30 and 10:30

Wlad Fury is an all time record for an Hbo overseas fight. This Brook fight did like 60% better than any fight on Showtime this year.

Beating one of the top P4P fighters in the world does nothing for him? But beating bums like Wade and WW who hasn't even proven himself at 147 did? How can canelo offer a fight at any weight when GGG, his trainer and more importantly his own promoter did interviews all year saying they refuse to drop a ounce and that they refuse to negoate on weight. GGG drew the line in the sand demanding the fight happen at 160 and it blew up in his face. Now he has to sit and wait and waste more years in his prime until Canelo is ready to move up to 160. Had they said sure we will go down in weight (I mean didn't they say 154 or 168?) could of gotten the fight. Instead tried to use a belt that the Canelo camp never cared about as leverage to get the weight on their terms. GGG used the I am the A side against Ward but karma came and a real A side used it against him. Both instances he refused to negotiate at weights out of 160. So he can waste his career stubbornly fighting at 160.

The 2 biggest fights that could of altered GGG's level of stardom he refused to budge for. Ward at 168 and Canelo at catchweight below 160. Tried to big time Ward screaming I am the A side come down to catchweight. Then foolishly tried to demand Canelo move up to 160 for the first time and fight him rather then drop down in weight when Canelo is the biggest star in boxing. Now he is already doing interviews saying that even when Canelo moves up to 160 he won't fight if he doesn't get PPV upside a big enough split. Mofo you look dumb as rocks and continuing to fight the guys you fighting has gotten NO WHERE.

its been 3 years since his hbo debut....the time for excuses has passed.

its up to himself and his team to demand certain fights, take risks, or stop playing hard ball in negotiations.

its a two way streak so excuses me if i dont write it off as pro fighters being scared or ducking the guy


He fought Lemieux last year so im sure their are other guys in the top ten at 160 willing to fight him...seems like its more like what HBO and k2 are willing to pay than him being ducked.

You keep ignoring the fact that this fight drew less viewers then his fight against murrary last year which was an afternoon fight as well. Kind of debunks the theory that GGG you been screaming all year about how much bigger a star GGG has become in 2016. This fight was hyped up as his biggest fight ever and promoted more then Murray why less ratings? Sorry to bust your bubble but he's just not a draw. Same here. I watched earlier and recorded it lived so there no point for me to watch the replay. After Caudras vs Gonzales I changed the station.

If I wanted to watch the fight again, which I did the next day, I would just watch my recording.
