How much would a GGG-Jacobs purse bid bring in?

I think we all know Jacobs wants more and probably significantly more than the 1.5 million he made vs PQ so if they can't come to terms and this fight goes to purse bid Jacobs as the challenger only gets 25% of the purse correct?

In that scenario the bid would have to be upwards of $8 million for Jacobs to be guaranteed his $2+ million payday..

This fight won't happen unless they come to terms before hand because Jacobs rightfully so will not fight for less than at least 2 or 2.5 million dollars. And no way anyone bids enough to get him that payday

I can't see how this fight gets anywhere near that money. This is a flop fight. Jacobs is a no name in his hometown itself. At best he can expect a ppv and same payday as Lemieux.

It's a good fight but it doesn't make a successful PPV in anyone's world and I can't see huge viewership figures on regular. I'd say HBO wouldn't bid more than about $3-4 mil at the outside which is maybe what they were talking about (in total) for the Saunders fight which I think they really wanted. Haymon? We'll see how deep his pockets are and how much faith he has in Jacobs I guess, but his depth and most US viewership are in the US dominated divisions 140 - 154 and he'd be smart to spend his money there where he wins on both ends. Bidding high on Jacobs would likely be a costly gamble, unless perhaps he tries to bluff or upbid HBO as part of a longer term goal.

Jacobs knows if it goes to purse bids then he wont get his >2mil share.. DiBella/Haymon bid 5mil for Wilder & Ryabinsky won by bidding 7mil and Wilder had a legitimate title.. I dont see the purse bids going over 5mil in this case at least..

I can see a winning bid of 4-5mil.. Happy to be wrong..

I don't see this as being much bigger than Lemieux and GGG. Don't remember what their purses were in that, but I'm guessing somewhere in that ballpark.

            GGG- $2 million
            Lemieux -$1.5 million

Not sure if either made extra anywhere else but those were the announced purses

I definitely don't think this fights purse bid makes enough to make this fight worthwhile for Jacobs. I suspect this fight maxes out around $6M-$7M if it goes to a purse bid. That puts Jacobs at $1.7M & if he got $1.5M for Quillin I don't see how it makes sense to fight a much better, more popular fighter than Quillin.

I also question if that if a PBC friendly promoter wins the purse bid at a more favorable number for Quillin that GGG might be contractually obligated to HBO legally thus HBO would need to get some sort of payout to "rent out" GGG for a night or some other workaround would be needed to make the fight happen.

With those issues I don't believe this fight happens this year or by this WBA mandated date in January.

If Jacobs wants $2-3M guarantee like he said, Haymon would have to bid $10M (75-25 split for GGG as super champion).

More realistically though I think the bid will be $4M. With GGG getting $3M and Jacobs accepting $1M guarantee.

He's not going to accept that, I think we all know he wants more than 1 Quillen for this fight. K2 needs to start at 1.8 and probably around 2.2 should be enough

I think this comes down to who calls who's bluff. Is GGG able to fight off HBO or is Jacobs willing to take a smaller purse than he's been calling for. I don't see this fight getting made.
