When have we seen that? Punch stats show that he get hit about 30-35% of each punch thrown in each fight. He just doesn't have defense. He was no more sloppy than he has ever been, he was just in with someone who had a greater skillset than previous opposition.

He was unquestionably more reserved, more patient, and less sloppy against both Stevens and Lemieux. He did not recklessly throw himself at either of those guys because he knew they were a threat.

Brook couldn't do **** to him so he chased the KO. The difference in his approach in this fight compared to Lemieux or Stevens is very obvious.

GGG didn't feel Brook was a threat, because he was the bigger, stronger man. Nobody is lying to themselves. GGG tried to steamroll him, he did.

No world class fighter stands and takes one flush combination after another on purpose. They do it when they don't have a choice. And because of Brook's handspeed and counterpunching, GGG didn't have a choice. Fortunately for him, he could take Brook's shots better than visa versa. And that's what won him the fight. But pretending that he was intentionally getting tags with multi-punch combos is just silly.

Golovkin is not that good of a fighter he's a power puncher in a division of weak fighters. When he fights a good boxer like Lara or someone not scared to trade with him he loses.

Yall act like guys knowing their gonna get hit when they let their hands go is something unique to GGG. Any fighter that opens up and let's their hands go against world class competition knows he's gonna get hit in return. Hell, go back and look at Floyd's fights when he was younger. He got hit more when he was younger than he did when he was older. And he was a much better fighter when he was younger. He got hit less when he got older because he became less willing to throw more than a punch or two at a time because he was no longer confident that he could get outta the way of what was coming back at him.

I don't think anyone is alarmed that a fighter as offensively minded as GGG gets caught occasionally. At least I'm not. What's alarming is how easy he is to hit with multi-punch combos when the other guy gets off first. And how he's hit with multi-punch combos when he's countered. Gennady is a well schooled fighter with about as good an amateur pedigree as you'll find. That tells me he knows how to defend. He knows how to not get outta position when he throws. He simply couldn't execute it against Kell for whatever reason. And personally, I think it had more to do with Kell's handspeed and footwork than it did Gennady not worrying about getting hit.

GGG was a little sloppy or casual for this fight with Brook particularly in the beginning and Brook caught him with some clean shots. But when he settled in and decided that he would have no more of it he pounded Brook into submission. It wasn't as pretty as is typical for him but he got the job done.

The best was the post fight interview when he smiled and said his performance was a 3 or 4. Humility and being critical of oneself is the mark of a true professional. I truly feel sorry for his next opponent though. His style will not be so cavalier and he'll go back to business as usual. Hopefully it will be before the end of the year.
