GGG gets criticized because he gets the hype of an accomplished fighter, but look at his resume. Many fighters have taken far more risks and are more accomplished....especially fighters his fans don't like for instance like Canelo, Ward, Mayweather etc.

1) Hatton turned pro at 140 and Mayweather 130.....Mayweather only had 6-7 fights over 135 before he fought Hatton

2) Hatton won a title at 147 before Mayweather did

he got plenty of Credit and at that point the demand for mayweather vs Pac was at its highest...Manny was taking out Floyd's left overs in impressive fashion. HBO and Ring was hyping him to the heavens....some even were saying he may be the greatest of all time (ESPN and people from other outlets) the hype was real for many from 2008-2011

many americans root for the eastern European or Russian fighters because their aren't fighters who look like them in America that are big names or champions

I think the appeal of the Eastern Euro fighters is they seem to be fighters. They come to put their opponent in a world of hurt.

Even if you think they're fighting bums, at least they're putting on shows by sparking these guys out. I figure that if we're going to see crap matches, then at least let's see some action.
