    A Smaller Fighter Can't Win

Chocolatito is 46-0(38), a four-division champion and just beat the number two fighter in a new weight class he's never fought at. Yet, some people on here still want to knock the idea that he is number one.

It has to be the size. He fights at smaller weights that most of these people don't and won't follow. Therefore, they don't know what to think when he fights because they don't keep up with it. Well, I'm not a big follower of those weights either, but good lord, what more does a guy have to do? Compare his accomplishments to the rest of the p4p top ten. He's way ahead.

Besides, we know politics will make the winner of Kovalev-Ward the new number one. Let a little man have his day in the sun, which he very much earned.

most of the criticisms i read about Gonzo come from ignorant fans who cant differentiate a roberto duran to an arturro gatti, a foreman to a frazier and think all aggressive fighters are all face first brawlers ...and they dont give credit to the wins no matter how good of little fighters simply coz they dont follow it

Rightly or wrongly the lower divisions are less prestigious.

Its like a horse than runs 1200m its never going to get the recognition of a horse than runs the classics now matter how good.

Roman gets hate for the wrong reasons it seems. I've literally seen fans that hate him just because he's on the same cards as Golovkin and fights on HBO, so he's guilty by association. And too many people compare him to previous top p4p guys like Floyd and Pac, which isn't fair as he should be compared to other top fighters in this era, not the previous one.

And most people on boxingscene are shorter and fatter than Roman, so I can't understand why he doesn't get more appreciation.
