GGG fighting Brook is how Canelo should've fought Mayweather

    Make your size an issue.

The problem is Canelo has bish in him. This is proven beyond a shadow of doubt as of late.

Floyd kept Canelo at pay with his pansy ass touches. GGG was literally bulldozing Brook down with volume and ferociousness. It must've been disheartening to watching your best shots bounce off a man. Props to Kell

That would have been interesting and a lot of fun. Floyd would have been in dire straights for sure. He wouldn't be able to hurt Canelo. It would be interesting. Not sure Canelo knocks him out but he would bust him up.

I think overall it begs the question that 'Should every fighter try to box his way to a win in a big fight?' I say definitely not. The fans were very much into last night's fight. Any casual and many hardcore fans were bored by May-Canelo. Would have been great had he fought like GGG, even if he lost.

Easier said than done with Floyd though. He's so good and controlling distance and making you fight to his rhythm.

Maidana had success because he's so unorthodox. Canelo is essentially the opposite, he's too orthodox to trouble Floyd. At the end of the day, Canelo fancies himself as some sort of master boxer and was naive to think he could outbox Floyd and got brought down to reality. Also, i think it was the 7th round when Floyd hit him with an uppercut and Canelo looked like he didn't fancy it anymore and retreated to the ropes and went into survival mode. If that was a puncher and finisher, they wouldn't have let Canelo off the ropes.

Canelo would lose to Floyd 100 times out of 100 no matter what he tried. He doesn't have the skills to beat Floyd. Even if he tried immense pressure, Floyd would be moving much more than he did in the first fight and Canelo can't really cut off the ring. He only caught up with Khan because Khan's footwork isn't intelligent enough to sustain it.

I don't see any way Canelo's skill set troubles Mayweather. Only if Floyd got very old.

Floyd doesn't have the openings GGG has.

Canelo tried that approach in the 8th round and it got him countered to death. Cotto tried it in the 8th round, not only did he eat a ton of punches, it killed his stamina.

Well, this was more about Canelo fighting like Golovkin and throwing caution to the wind. He doesn't have the openings GGG had last night for sure. But Mayweather's hittable. He'd just get these guys to play mind games with him. It worked very well. He never had somebody just go apeshyt on him like GGG did against Brook last night. With Canelo's size, that could have been interesting.

Kell Brook can't do what Mayweather does.

canelo should have fought floyd like maidana did, i mean canelo got a 114-114 card while losing all the rounds, imagine if he would have put a performance like chino? he would have won that night

Golovkin is naturally a pressure fighter who wants to cut off the ring, throw power shots and use his power. What he did last night was his natural style.

Canelo is a boxer (preferably a counter puncher), he's not a guy that likes to fight the way Golovkin did. Trying to box Mayweather was obviously the wrong plan, but fighting out of your style against the best fighter in the world would have left him more open.

Golovkin is 34 and has a lot of experience, Canelo was 23 when he fought Mayweather; he's a much more complete fighter now.

If Mayweather is so hittable why didn't Canelo light him up???

                    GGG.......now that's hittable.
