I get it, it was a large and new crowd expecting fireworks and an even larger tv audience, but Golovkin could've had a much better showing if he actually used his skills instead of doing his best Maidana impression. Where was that quality jab that we saw versus Lemieux? where were the set ups that we saw versus Stevens? Golovkin looked bad and he only has himself to blame. I will say this, as the fight progressed Golvokin started to get better distance and timing and it looked like it would've only gotten easier for him thereafter.
There was no need for a controlled performance, he could simply walk through the guy before round 6. Made it very watchable for a mismatch, much more than if he'd jabbed the guy to death.

Like I said, not a controlled performance and a fun fight for such a mismatch. I hear Canelo is interested in what's left of Brook

some sort of wwe performance, swing punches to make it fun for the fans...

and by the way, brook could very well land the canelo fight, as he will be willing to fight at canelos weight class and wont be asking for a fortune...

Well make sure you seek me out, i'd love to put some points on the line against your opinion. I've said it on here countless times, the guy is recognized as a wrecking ball but not given credit for all the other intangibles, when he faces an elite fighter as you say I guarantee you will see another dimension of the guy.

I do see your point, it was entertaining for what was supposed to be a massive mismatch, but Golovkin was clearly looking for an impressive stoppage and he never set that up for himself. He wasted time looking for one early shot and for as much as the crowd cheered the fight, they booed the anti-climatic the ending. There's a reason he only gave his performance a 3 out of 10.

He looked worse than ever in his career against a welterweight. It is very illogical to think he would look better against better competition. I have already said on here that I see the fight as 60/40 in GGG's favor so I'm not going to be betting against him.

Folks said the same thing about Angulo's eye when Lara busted him up.

It been said before and think it is true that GGG believed that Brook could not hurt him and went at Brook.
Brook did well but GGG broke his eye socket!!! If GGG had respect for his power like he did with lemieux, he would have boxed better. His jabbing was not its normal self on Saturday.

I think these wars and age will catch up with GGG soon. He tooks some good shots from Kell.

Did anyone else notice that Kell was breathing heavy in the 2nd round and onwards. It might have been because of the injury.

He did make GGG look clumsy, i think we can all be honest in admitting that. GGG definitely has a great poker face but he couldnt hide the fact that he was stunned a few times in there on saturday night.
