Comments Thread For: Kell Brook Broken Eye Socket Confirmed, Surgery is Scheduled

Kell Brook's world middleweight title dream ended in a devastating fifth-round stoppage defeat by the fearsome Gennady Golovkin at London's O2 Arena. Stepping up from welterweight to challenge one of the greatest middleweights in history, he did his reputation little harm but, as expected, was gradually out-boxed and over-powered by the defending champion.

I think that was bloody obvious. He was looking down at GGG shoes to see where he was, he was swiping away at his right eye constantly, just at that point I implore them to stop the fight and am glad his corner did right there and then. No point in destroying his life and career.

Brook surprised me, and although he lost takes a lot of credit from this fight.
As GGG said in post fight interview "He is not a middleweight", but looking forward he should challenge for light middleweight title before retiring within the next 3yrs
As for GGG, unification is the next obvious step Billy Jo Saunders, then take it to Canelo as first unified defence

He got a big paycheck but at the cost of damaging his eye. ****** move jumping to 160 from WW, I hope it was worth it.

He faced 'Hands of Stone' Gennady and paid with a busted eye socket.

I think Brook stated 2nd? Was early on, anyway and it was obvious too.

When Ingle jumped on the apron I thought he was looking to get tagged in

I've fractured my orbital before and it's no joke . Took me pretty much 10 months before I could even think about sparring again

Big respect to brook for coming to win , he had his moments but in the end he needed saving from himself . Good stoppage by the corner imo

GGG will steamroll anyone at mw in my eyes . ****s just relentless . Freak power

Can't see BJS or Eubank being able to keep him off

Only time I can see ggg get tested is if he moves up

Someone slippery like degale might be a decent test
