Comments Thread For: Kell Brook: I Expected Golovkin To Be a Bigger Puncher!

The truth is that Golovkin could have ended the fight in those 2 minutes of the first round where he buckled Kell. He just wanted the fight to go a bit longer since he felt bad for the fans and wanted to give them some exciting "drama show". Imagine if he knocked him out in the first round would have been a bummer for everybody. Kell is probably still didn't clear up his head and is being hyped by the people around him to make those delusional statements, which is understandable. He was courageous and brave but this was just too much for him and to be fair any of the current welterweights moving up in weight and facing a monster like he did would have founded difficult, with the exception of Floyd and Pac. To all the people who said Golovkin was exposed by Brook, its just a bunch of nonsense. Golovkin doesn't have one style that he always utilizes he has many and for this fight he chose to just walk through him with a little regards for his defense because he is the one in the ring felling Kell's punches and he can make that assessment, plus he is an entertainer in the ring so if he feels that he is ok with taking his opponents occasional punches he is willing to sacrifice a little defense to please the fans. I think this part of Golovkin is also overlooked, unlike other fighters who talk smack outside the ring and don't show nothing for it during the fight, Golovkin is 100% committed to do everything he can to give the fans a thrilling fight even though he knows that his opponent is overmatched. He is a complete fighter who can box, utilize his jab in many different ways as we saw today, brawl intelligently on the inside and can turn you off at any second. Also some of the british commentators and fans are just so ignroant, even when seeing Brook getting beat up they were commentating as if he was beating golovkin just because he can stand up to his punches and then went to the orbital bone excuse as if just happened by accident completely ignoring the fact that Brook was getting massacred in there. I saw the same **** when Frampton won against Santa Cruz, I wont's say beat because Frampton escaped with that gift, but the Brits went from praying hard for a decision before it was announced, image of Barry McGuigan, to saying that Frampton dominated the fight afterwards. Anyways Brits are passionate boxing fans but are also ignorant and unfair. Fuuc'emComment

I am tired of this mismatches. Brook should fight Khan next and GGG should fight Canelo, Jacobs or Saunders next.
Respect for Brook, but ww fighting middleweight champion is just crazy.Comment

Not only did he break his face, he gave him brain damage as well. I like Brook though. Kid has balls. Came to the states to beat Porter when everyone thought Shawn would whoop his butt. Then he jumps up to fight the guy who is scaring all middleweights.Comment

It's ok if you can't handle your hero getting frustrated for a bit there. Like I said, cognitive dissonance for you GGG fans. No worries friend, Brook just showed a blueprint, and now every decent MW will be studying the tapes over and over. You do know eventually your idol gets beat, right? I mean, he isn't really Superman like you think he is.Comment
