'He's a very good fighter, but not a middleweight, not too strong' - Golovkin literally said it after the fight.
I just don't buy it, you either weigh the same as someone or you don't (which Brook did) just like you are either naturally stronger than someone or you're not and If you're not you should find a way to deal with it.
What do you think other middleweights have to do in that situation when they can't take an inside battle?
Lara isn't naturally stronger than Canelo but he managed to box and move all night long I just see this as an easy excuses you'd have had no problem If Brook pulled off the upset that version of Brook would have likely caused a lot of other 160lbers problems but he just simply met someone who was too good for him.
To all the people saying it was a bad stoppage, what did you want out of the fight? Brook to leave in a body bag?
It was clear that he emptied his clip and Golovkin's punches were starting to hit their target. He wasn't in a position where he could win and he was against an opponent who would cut his career short.
Brook didn't even seem pissed by the stoppage. My guess is that he already arranged a gesture to show he was done when he wanted to call it quits.
Golovkin really has two versions of himself - the one where he doesn't respect his opponent and relentlessly tries to destroy his opponent quickly, like tonight, and there is the version where he respects his opponent like how he fought Lemeuix or Stevens where he uses his jab, fights smart and is patient with his work. It's all about the opponent. Put him in the ring with a Jacobs or Canelo, we'll get the David Lemeuix version, put him in there with a physically out matched guy, we'll see a street fight.
Yep the boxer version of Golovkin destroys Canelo,Saunders, and Jacobs.
We've seen GGG in "Terminator" mode before, but he got hit too much for my liking. Had he gotten a severe cut or facial injury, we'd all be saying how ****** he is for barely utilizing any head movement.
Your liking has nothing to do with it. The point is he intentionally fought that way and was just looking for that one shot for most of the fight.
So trying to "take something" from it and apply it to him fighting anyone else is ****** and flawed.
Just because a fighter allows certain things to happen in one fight with one fighter doesn't mean jack when fighting another fighter. There are many elements to his game, he is a complete fighter, and he has excellent head movement. Just because he let himself get touched up here doesn't mean he suddenly is some face first brawler. He literally called it a sparring session. Have you sparred before? Do you understand what he means by that?
I love dumb comments like this. The GGG "you saw tonight" implies he was off of his game, out of shape, or something of the sort.
HE CHOSE TO BE RECKLESS, FISH FOR THE STOPPAGE, AND MAKE IT A STREET FIGHT.
Are you choosing to ignore the post fight interviews? Or are you just trolling?
No one's opinion should change about GGG/Ward from before this fight, because nothing you saw today has anything to do with it. Such ******ity I feel I am going to read over the next week.
Now you all know why he's called ''The special one'' and why people who know WTF they're talking about claim he is the best at welterweight.
Brook would absolutely rip apart Elroy Spencer or whatever the **** the next American hypes called. He'd beat Canelo's ass at whatever made up weight division he likes too and I'd put cold, hard cash on that.
Hopefully Jacobs mans up or Billy Hoe if not I'd like to see GGG move up and stop wasting his time waiting on these jokers with their crazy demands.
Almost sad as talented as Brook is that a WW goes up to fight such a monsterous punching MW where all these actual MW champions are excuse making.
You'd be taken a lot more seriously if you didn't try and make nationalistic jabs. As someone born in the USA who thinks Brook is #1 at WW, well before this fight, you are pathetic.
