But what was the original question?

Should GGG not fight Brook? If you consider the context and landscape of boxing, I think it's a good fight to take right now.

the question was, if you were 3g and your promoter came to you about fighting a top ww, what do you tell him ?

If it's a big money fight, or as big as any other in my weight range, and it's a challenge, of course I take it. Weight classes are separated by like 5-7 lbs on average. That's nothing.

If a guy is willing to step up and challenge a fighter in a higher weight class, but the fighter in that weight class refuses to fight him with no better reason other than "he's smaller" (which may not even be true despite the division disparity), then these fights never ever happen. Do you know how many fights in the history of the sport would never have happened? Do you realize how many resumes would be different?

Do you not realize the flaw in that logic and the flaw in those expectations?

there was no wrong answer. its what you would do and im SURE youd applaud EVERY fighter who took on a challenge from a top guy 2 divs beneath him.

me, i get pictures of gatti vs gamache.

I mean, just as a fighter moves up to challenge someone, someone moves up to challenge him. It's not wrong because it's part of the cycle.

The only two guys I am really interested in seeing GGG beat are Ward and Canelo but if those fights can't happen right now, then what's left? I would say easily Brook is the best name out there, and he wants to fight him. Why the heck not? I don't get any criticism at all about this fight to be honest.

If Brook manages to survive 12 rounds it's a win in my book, lol.

Why the **** is this blasphemous fight pinned 14 days out? BostonGuy is such a biased prick.

Poll says it all, when Laced Up votes against a Brit by KO you know it is a mismatch.

First off Brook is a huge muscular guy and is really a 154-pounder, and hits harder than anyone at 154 anyways, yes including Canelo. So he is really only moving up one division to face a small middleweight in Golovkin. And unlike Khan, Brook has a granite chin and has never been close to KTFO, and has KO power himself.

But Brook is also a master-boxer who does not need to KO you, on the outside he will pepper you with accurate jabs and right hands. He has a speed advantage over Golovkin that he can use here. Brook is also a defensive specialist, when was the last time you saw him get hit clean? Brook is a different galaxy of class compared to guys like Murray, Macklin, Geale, etc.

I see Golovkin starting strong, but soon realizing that Brook is a different animal to anyone he's ever faced. I see Brook out boxing Golovkin on the outside with 1-2s, and slipping and turning Golovkin near the ropes, and then back to peppering him with 1-2s.

I see Golovkin being frustrated and befuddled, if he gets desperate he might get KTFO himself by a perfectly timed chocolate brownie right hand!
