Never argue with a profit. If Golovkin ends up crushing Brook, his reputation will continue to grow as he becomes more popular and gains new fans. That said, Brook is an undefeated champion fighting on his home turf. Expect him to make this competitive, at least for awhile

Golovkin still needs fights against top MW's. We're all waiting for Jacobs, Saunders, Canelo to step up. Sergio ducked, and so has everyone else.

Not great at all. That's what happens when you cherrypick.

If golovkin goes in there and its very one sided, does it significantly strengthen his cv or should it just be greeted with a shrug of the shoulders? Please discuss...
Lose-lose situation for Golovkin just like it was for Canelo. They got paid well though.

I think it's a good win but it is an expected win so many will say it's a joke fight and not a good win. GGG beats decent fighters so easily that he no longer gets much credit for good wins. People just expect him to win by one sided KO because that is how he always wins his fights. Lemieux, Macklin and Murray were all good wins but he doesn't get much credit for them.He won't get any credit for KOing an undefeated welterweight champ who looks like a full size middleweight now.

I love how GGG fans are trying to pump up Brook's name. Guy has one quality win against a just above average brawler in Porter. He ran back to the UK and has fought bums since that win. Not to mention the fact that GGG has to travel across the pond to fight him and is the B side.
Win or lose this fight does nothing for GGG. For Brook this is a true no lose situation. He loses a decision or get's KO'd he doesn't lose anything and can still make big fights at WW or JMW. He wins than his stock rises dramatically. Brook's manager should be given the most props here for getting Brook this payday in his hometown and for suckering K2 to agreeing to it.

I think a lot of it depends on how badly GGG beats Brook. He is expected to win and win big, but if he absolutely destroys Brook early he should get some credit. I think some of it depends on Brook's future. If he stays at MW and beats other top MW contenders and/or champs, then it puts GGG into perspective. Some people are going to be critical of Golovkin regardless who he fights. Im not sure he would get any more credit for beating Eubank, whom he had originally signed to fight. He could be fighting DeGale at 168, and some guys would jump all over him saying, "Look, he'll fight DeGale at 168, but not Ward...duck." Golovkin just cant win with some guys.

When he dominates & KO Brook it'll show that Kell Brook had no business in there it'll prove what we all knew going into the fight. GGG will get backlash for taking this fight and more fans and the legit media will demand he start taking the same risks others are taking to fight him.

it means completely nothing for golovkin. even if golovkin ko's brook in 1 round. but for brook it would be massive.
