    Billie Joe saunders

I was thinking today about the fact Billie Joe kinda came out of nowhere. He beats Eubanks and Lee and suddenly holds one of the most prized belts in boxing. I always knew about EUbank and Lee as prospects but hadn't heard a peep from Billie JOe.

Does anyone know much more about Saunders? His Dan Raphael Tyraid was pretty intense, seems like a genuine intense/looney guy.

Saunders is the second best middleweight in the world, who would give Golovkin a terribly hard fight. He would beat Canelo, Jacobs, etc.

Saunders is acctually one of the biggest natural talents in the sport, he is acctually very good but his problem has been his conditioning, hes having stamina issues, he should consider changing conditioning coach cause if he gets his stamina in order i can definetly see him upsetting GGG, but who knows maybe he has been working on his stamina now that he has been out of the ring for so long, i sure hope so, cause he always looked a bit flabby imo, other then that sky's the limit, he has a very awkward elusive style

GGG would destroy him, Eubank beats him second time around and I'd fancy Jacobs to beat him also. His conditioning has always been poor, it's just the way he is. Don't see that ever changing. He's just after a cash in and will continue to fight nobodies until he secures it.

He never really come out of nowhere though.

Here in the UK he was a pretty good amateur and had been known as one of the best prospects in recent years since he turned pro. Then he won domestic and european level before winning a world title from Andy Lee. The only reason he doesn't get the same level of press as other fighters is because he's not a Hearn fighter fighting on Sky.

I think most people in the British boxing game expected Saunders would go on to win a world title, which he did.

The reason anybody knew Eubank as a prospect was simply because of his dad.

Saunders is a good fighter. Always had a very good ring IQ from a young age. On his day, I think he has the talent and skills to beat any other Middleweight not named Golovkin.

People talk a lot about canelo lemieux and jacobs -- Saunders likely beats all of them (though loses by robbery to Canelo). he has very good ring IQ, probably the fastest hands and feet in the division and is all round pretty slick. His power though is meh (he can take care of you if he lands clean though) and his stamina is questionable.

I remember him at the Olympics and the build-up, he was considered talented but unlikely to win a medal because of age/inexperience. On the same team Bradley Saunders (not related) was talked about more but didn't win a medal either or have an impact as a pro. I don't remember him get much attention in his first 15 or so fights or many tipping him as a future champ. More focus was on other British prospects.
