  • Comments Thread For: Duva: Special Fights Like Kovalev vs. Ward Belongs on PPV

New York, New York - The CEO of Main Events worked incredibly hard to put together the best possible fight to be made in boxing between her fighter, light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (30-0-1, 26 KO's), and challenger Andre Ward(30-0, 15 KO's). There may have been some concern of the fight not being formally announced because of some details that needed some ironing out with Ward's promoters, Roc Nation Sports. The details are ironed out and the fight will take place in Las Vegas at the new T-Mobile Arena on November 19th.

I can't disagree. This is a very rare occurrence. People should be applauding both fighters for making it happen instead of letting it marinate or until someone gets too old. I'm pumped for it. Very much so worth PPV in my opinion.

Co-sign. Good fight between two good fighters.

I'm not sure whose going to win this one. We didn't get Ward vs. GGG, but this more than makes up for it.

I give Kovalev credit for his willingness to challenge himself and fight the best. He took out BHop and is willing to risk the belts against a skilled fighter like Ward. GGG should learn from this and challenge himself to a real fight as well.

Completely agree. This fight is between 2 of the best in the entire world and they're not shot old fighters in it for a money grab...

Next weeks PPV is everything that's wrong with boxing, a big name fighting a nobody thinking his fans will shell out $75 to watch it. I hope that bombs beyond belief, we need to show these promoters that we won't pay for garbage they shove down our throats anymore...

I'll buy it, but it's probably going to be the last time I buy a fight for a long time.

It's definitely PPV worthy, but I wonder if it's going to actually make any money. Neither of these guys are particularly well known outside of boxing. I haven't read anything about it outside of boxing sites online. The PPV model could be dead if they are relying on just hardcore boxing fans.

This is steak compared to Canelo tuna and GGG hamburger.
