But again it seems like it'd be a risky proposition when the NY thing could still work itself out maybe or you could just put this fight on at Cowboys stadium or in Vegas & it should do respectable figures & be far less risky.
    Yeah, this makes sense.

Boxing in American is ***ing JOKE right now it is in a Awful Space and more nad more people seem to be turning away, only person worth coming back to America for GGG is Canelo

But if he does fight Jacob next then I think Barclay's Center makes the most sense
not really. Jacobs already proved he cant sell out an arena even with a fellow NYer as the opponent and an all NY undercard. So why pay the NY State taxes and now the extra insurance costs when Jacobs doesnt add enough ticket sales to offset those costs?

hard punching brooklyn kid and a kazakh with punching power who draws well with casuals in new york and on the west coast?

that fight should be in new york. MSG or barclays. preferably a real arena with history like MSG.

but if the money truly is better overthere that's where they should fight. i seriously doubt that you'd see two foreigners draw well over there.

and please stop with the joshua on the undercard stuff. they gotta make money on these ppvs lol. joshua would bring more butts into the arena than the entire main event combined. that kid won a gold medal in london, FFS. he's a massive draw, and might be the biggest earner in boxing in a couple of years.

with the purse mr 380K showtime viewers [that's what he drew vs quillin ] danny jacobs seems to think he earns, this fight is going to be expensive!

But when excuses start to get used about not having enough $ for the fight, can the UK be an option that works financially? That is my question.
I highly doubt it tbh.. HBO has no PPV pull in the UK & Sky cannot market it as much without a UK fighter.. This fight would also need a UK promoter say Hearn.. Jacobs can hardly sell 100 tickets by himself in the UK & even if the UK public warm up to Golovkin, he needs to fight there & against well known names like Eubank & Saunders to make the UK fans fall head over heels for this guy..
I'd feel even fighting in The Forum in LA also wouldn't make as much numbers as it would in MSG/Barclays in NY..

The WBA says they will order Golovkin to fight Jacobs next (and there will be pressure on them and the fighters to not let this fall through)

Obviously, Golovkin is the A side but Jacobs wants to be paid very well. Then there is the whole new york insurance requirements and the fact that despite being a big fight, it isn't a fight that will be a huge commercial success on PPV.

My question is that if Golovkin puts on a great show against Brook, gains more UK fans, and the ppv there sells a big amount (which it seems like it will), plus the fact that the UK is just a great market for boxing right now (where in America, barely any fighters can sell tickets or ppvs)....could Golovkin vs Jacobs work better financially for the fighters and the overall event if it placed in the UK...maybe with Joshua as a co-feature?

I think it is a great idea when the "price has to be right"..."i have to be compensated"..."there isn't enough money in the fight yet"...excuses start to get used.

Can this fight support $7-8 million in the main event purses if Golovkin makes a big splash in the UK? Talk to me.
Think its a good idea. Jacobs can fly over there Saturday and he can fight him right after Brook. (just a little boxing humor).

It would take more than the Brook fight imo. Now if he were to setup shop in the UK and beat Eubank, Saunders and DeGale then maybe, but thats like a year and a half of fights. Jacobs is looking like he will be next (I hope) so I don't really see an option outside of MSG or Barclays.

Doubt HBO would allow that I'd love to see it happen but the only way he fights over in the UK again is If one he beats Brook and two Eubank Jr signs a contract to fight him and then the outlandish three If Froch comes out of retirement which lets be honest that won't happen Froch won't want his new nose job being ruined.

Jacob's simply isn't getting the money he's been talking about. Haymon would have to win a bid of over $6mill for Danny to get the same $1.5mill K2 already offered him. Jacobs can vacate (and keep making less than $1mill/fight) or accept the K2 offer.

Golovkin still needs to build himself up in the UK vs UK fighters.
