      Legendary boxer and Southern California native Bobby Chacon has died, the World Boxing Council announced Wednesday. He was 64. 'With profound sadness I have learned that our dear champion Bobby Chacon passed away this morning,' World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman said on Twitter. "May God have him now. RIP.'

              Great highlight, that was the very first fight I saw live and up close. The historic good ole Sacramento memorial auditorium. Being 16 at the time and being a very long time ago. I remember there was a packed house full of crazed rabid fans drunk and rooting for chacon the whole way. That fight is what made me a crazed boxing fan for years.

                A very good non-stop action fighter prone 2 cuts but always give 100% ...hung around a couple years 2 long, as many do... he was exactly what a fighter should b, a fighter...rest in peace, Bobby...

                      R.I.P. "School Boy" ... Truly one of the all time boxing showman.

                      It seems like yesterday that the L.A. and So Cal boxing scene was "the" boxing scene, but that was in the 70's and 80's.
