Here's the thing about racism in boxing, we have to look at treatment of other fighters to see who is getting treated differently.

I don't care if you like someone but when you can't say the guy you are named after has done anything it makes sense to call it out.

I grew up in a rough town, too. There's a reason that Richmond was the pilot city for the Federal Project Exile project. In case you dont know what that is, its where you get 60 months flat Fed time for being a felon with a handgun. We had one of the highest per capita homicide rates in the country in the early and mid 90s, when I was growing up. So Im not scared of some name calling punk like you. Keep thinking Im fat. You say to examine racism you have to look at how other fighters are treated. You have to compare fighters with similar circumstances. You cant compare Ward who had two fights between the end of 2012 and the end of 2015, to Golovkin, who had more than that in any one of those years. Had Ward remained active, fighting 3 times a year like he said he was going to do after his 2013 fight, then maybe youd have a point. But to say Ward is being treated unfairly while comparing him to an active fighter is ludacris.

If you really experienced racism like you say you did, then you should approach things with an open attitude, rather than the close mindedness that embodies racism.

I should blame both of them? No, I support Thurman, and give him credit, because he calls out Garcia, and clearly wants to fight him, and I can tell just from logic that he wants to fight him because I know he's way better. I don't support Garcia, and I don't give him credit, because he doesn't call out Thurman except to save face, and I can tell just from logic that he doesn't want to fight him because he knows Thurman is better. Plus, Danny's own father said "why fight the best when you can make money to fight Rod Salka?" If that's the case that means you're not a sportsman, you have no respect for the sport of boxing and its history, so as a boxing fan, why would I root for a pure businessman? I am a boxing fan, not a businessman. That means I root for boxers, but businessmen.

Well, this chat is unfortunately a bunch of nonsense with very little about boxing at this point. LOL...

Anyway, Ward is a great fighter and I'm a big fan, but some criticism is justified. Boxing fans are naturally impatient. We want more. After the Super 6 and Dawson, he should have carried that momentum. He didn't, but he got a break (due to promotional issues and injury) that he said he benefited from. With that break the fans got impatient and to some degree moved on. We have short memories. You can't keep talking about stuff that happened 3+ years ago unless you are retired...

With all that being said, the level of criticism on here is inconsistent. Yeah, he took some time off, but that doesn't warrant the level of **** I see on this chat. Come November, he will have fought 3 times in 8 months. That's pretty active to me. He's back fighting now, so inactivity is no longer a problem for me. Also, Barrera wasn't a bum before Ward fought him. Why is he a bum now? Some lists had him in the top 10 at LHW. On top of it all, Ward moved up and in his 3rd fight at a new weight class, he is up against the baddest man in the ring in Kovalev. I repeat - IN HIS 3RD FIGHT AT A NEW WEIGHT CLASS. Like I said, I get the criticism, but I'm not going to act like Ward isn't one of the best out there and taking on a great challenge.... Also, the ducking Bute comment is hilarious. LOL. It is because so many value "symbolism" over "realism." They can't see that the NYPD violated millions of black and brown people's civil rights with "stop-and-frisk" because those are the guys who ran into the Twin Towers during 911.
