Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Marquez: Brook Has a Shot, Won't Be Easy For GGG

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez believes that IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) has a shot to pull off a major upset on Saturday night, when he steps in the ring with IBO/IBF/WBC/WBA middleweight world champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Marquez may be a boxer but brook being the better boxer than Golovkin? well he's not paying attention, this guys should know the definition of a boxer and puncher, golovkin is a complete package, doesnt rely on speed but timing, he's a complete boxer

Theres gonna be a massive home crowd for brook , hopefully he can pull it off

Would be nice to see brook land some bombs of his own to get GGG's respect early

Yes Brook definitely is a better boxer than ggg.
If some of the **** on here think otherwise then then they obviously don't know the definition of a pure boxer.

Another great fighter who says the fight will be competitive. Whoever is the better boxer will be seen in a couple days i guess.

Why are so many fighters jealous of GGG? GGG is elite in plus/minus stats, whatever those are worth (more when your shots are powerful too), and he was an amateur and Olympic star, but Brook is a better boxer? If Brook was a better boxer he would have knocked out Porter like a welterweight version of GGG would have. He would have been able to combine clean shots on the chin in succession until Porter fell. Instead Brook landed some nice singles and that was about it. Seems a lot of fighters are jealous of the "hype" GGG gets so they take veiled shots at him. Marquez took a long time to break through and now he sees GGG coming from Khazakstan of all places and becoming a star much quicker than he did. I get why that would piss Marquez off but he has to realize GGG has what, 22 knockouts in a row, and has looked like a force of nature. When exceptional things happen in sports, it breaks through to the public. Marquez was a great fighter but he wasn't a freak of nature like GGG. Marquez shouldn't be jealous anyway he has the Pacquiao KO which unless the PED details come out later, will stand the test of time as a great accomplishment and Hall of Fame career defining win.

Becoming a star quicker than Marquez ? Really ? Marquez was already a established star in 2007 when he faught Mayweather at age 33 . Not to mention faught better competition .
