    What's the angle?

How can it be better than two top 5 P4P (according to most) fighter fights each other?

These are the type of fights boxing needs! And they are so rare... but we still have people like you who aren't satisfied with it.
No offense but I just don't get it...

No angle. Unlike you I don't think Ward should be that high for 3 straight tune ups. I know Kovalev is worth the money. I bet you most can't relate cause most stream boxing fights. It's not like I can't watch it later. Just because I don't buy a PPV, doesn't make me any less of a fan of the sport.

I don't think James was ranked that high P4P in 94.....I'm guessing there are more than 3 because I know for a fact Sweetpea vs ODLH was a top 5 p4p fight

Going into the Roy fight he was 2 or 3. Not sure where Roy was ranked.

The article is incorrect. It was intended to say that Kovalev V Ward is only the 3rd time in Ring Magazine history where 2 fighters in the top 5 pound for pound, both undefeated, were squaring off. Pacquiao was not undefeated when fighting Mayweather.

In addition, the article and the press release is also wrong when it says this is the 3rd time 2 P4P undefeated fighters are fighting. Kovalev V Ward is in fact the 4th time in Ring Magazine history. This is the list -

Julio Cesar Chavez Sr V Meldrick Taylor 1
Roy Jones Jr V James Toney
Tito Trinidad V Oscar de la Hoya
                Sergey Kovalev V Andre Ward

All 8 fighters were undefeated and in Ring Magazine's top 5 P4P.

I can't believe Oscar vs Tito wasn't top 5. Where could they have been ranked at the time?

Oh just saw the post above never mind.....
