    so whats the difference?

You're comparing guys Golovkin fought in the first two years of his career to the back half of Jacobs' entire resume. Before Pirog, Danny had nice wins over Ishe Smith and Michael Walker (guys he didn't stop). If Golovkin hadn't gone on to stop 7 top 10 MW's those early KO's wouldn't get much credit, and nobody would be talking about his current KO streak.

You can count on one hand the number of top 20 MW's Danny has wins over: Quillin, Mora, Traux, Fletcher.

Jacobs is a good fighter. People forget he was very, very highly touted coming up, though he could never quite put it together and look really great - and then the Pirog KO derailed him.

He's come back very well from that (and cancer) and looks to be fulfilling his potential. I don't think his chin could withstand Golovkin but he can definitely crack and he's got good speed and reflexes. It'd be a good fight.

I don't get it. According to haters GGG is a fraud and hypejob. But meanwhile Jacobs, who's top 3 wins are Quillin, Mora and Traux is the man to be him?

You don't. No one does. What we do know is as soon as Byrd stopped the fight at the count of 4 or 5, Jacobs shot up and Byrd had to physically restrain him.

Taking advantage of the 8 count? Alright mate, whatever you say ...

I don't read or post on this board much but this made me actually laugh out loud.

He'll be taking advantage of the 10 count if he fights Golovkin.

What he did was step forward with his left foot, moving from southpaw to orthodox, while pulling back his left hand to throw a hook, leaving himself wide open to Deontay's right. If he'd been shifting, and doing it properly, he would have kept his left hand up as a guard and thrown the right after stepping in.

I've always been a fan of Jacobs. Hopefully the Golovkin fight will happen next year. I think Golovkin wins though.

Being that he didn't shift while throwing the straight left, he shoulda probably skipped the left hook there and thrown a right...but the shift is generally just stepping through with the foot the same side as you're punching. Sometimes it's done inadvertently by over committing or just having sloppy footwork. There are some fighters that use it well to close distance and create angles for follow up shots, but generally it's not a good practice imo. You can get caught square and it brings your head forward with it...there's a danger of walking into a shot and making it much harder cuz of the forward momentum of the head. Definitely something for guys who are experienced and comfortable with it.
