That's a shame. Garcia/Berto would have been a good fight.

You rather have that fight over Garcia-Diaz? What did you think about the Diaz-Peterson fight?

        I think I would.

I think Garcia/Berto would be an exciting fight that would be a slugfest and would get a lot of casual sports fan to tune in.

The Diaz/Peterson fight was a solid fight. I remember it being competitive and I may have scored it slightly in favor for Lamont, but it was too long ago to be certain in going w/that.

I think Diaz is a live dog to spoil and outpoint DSG, but I'm not sure if it would be a fight that would create excitement. Could end up looking similar to Donaire, Jr./Rigondeaux.

True. But I'd like to see this fight. And Diaz just signed with DiBella so I think it's more than possible. Also if Diaz wins I think he's more likely to fight a unification with Thurman or Spence if he gets the IBF title. I'm at the point where I root for the person more likely to fight the tougher competition.

Fights we'll know the status of this weekend for the Oct 15th card:
            Garcia vs Zlaticanin
            Danny Garcia vs. Felix Diaz
            Mares vs. Cuellar

Charlo vs J Rock has to be made this year
You're right Easter vs Commey is very good and it's buried on a card that a lot don't like.

Sure. I'm not mad at this match-up (Garcia/Diaz).

However, I liked the idea of the winners of Thurman/Avanesyan and Garcia/Berto meeting each other for a title unification bout. Thurman and Garcia being the most likely winners meeting each other atop a solid PPV card would be good for the sport.

The PBC is utter trash aside from a few fights a year, and HBO has slipped as well due to no strong competition. But who cares, really. If we're not going to get good matchups, the sport deserves to die.
I can't say Haymon destroyed it, I think he should have focused on CBS and Showtime but it's much deeper issues. Haymon isn't the reason we can't even have Lemiuex vs Stevens.

Stevie Wonder saw this happening. But it's not just Floyd, mind you. Just an overall era of boxers that aren't there anymore. Partially due to the shift in promoters and networks. It's nowhere near what it used to be. The variety isn't there any more.

I blame the fact that Don King is now effectively a nobody and rappers are in the wrong business.
