I am very certain Whyte finishes whatever's left of Helenius, but I'm hesitant at the current odds (-500). There's so much $$$ to be made in a Whyte-AJ rematch that Hearn wouldn't put Whyte in there if he saw Helenius still posed a major threat. Helenius was training with AJ and I'm sure Hearn saw something he liked in there

He's pulled out. I don't know the exact reason but it must relate to him not fighting for a whole year. The odds drifted so money was coming in on Calum.
Rob Brant has become the betting favourite for his fight vs Jurgen at 4/6. Either the bookies know something or they're are laying the trap for the casual market. Gonna stay well clear of that fight.Comment

Nah, I think trap lines are real. It happens to differing extents for every line, but the bookies definitely take a side and just the odds accordingly.
IMO Mayweather McGregor was a massive trap line. Smart money was pouring in on May in the months leading up to fight, but there was still waaay more dumb money that the odds should have been closer to even. Letting McGregor stay at juicy odds reeled in more casuals to bet than if they had priced it at true 50/50Comment

Brant has never been 12 rounds and the one time he went 10 rounds it ended a majority decision. Never held a World title or fought a former World champion (I think). Jurgen has done both.
Jurgen hasn't fought since breaking down vs Cleverly & I haven't seen anything on how his camp is going. Maybe he's struggling to make weight?.
Weird one all round hence why I said I'll be staying clear. I was big on Brant when he opened at 2/1 because of how crap Jurgen looked vs Cleverly. However at 4/6 and all the question marks surrounding Brant it doesn't really make sense.Comment

Braehmer's fight against Cleverly is one of the weirdest endings to a fight I have ever seen. It looked to me that Cleverly was the one slowing down and could maybe get stopped. Then, out of nowhere he quits. On the replay you could see there was something clearly wrong with his arm as he could barely raise it in the moments before he quit. It's more telling of weak mental fortitude than his lack of skills, but I can see the weight being a huge factor in the odds being what they are. He hasn't fought at 168 in almost 10 years and at his age, the weight's not going to come off easy.Comment

So we have Andre Ward in the red corner and Skelator in the blue.
Probably the most interesting fight of the tournament so far. I remember Jurgens arm but then you have the Danny Williams & Isaac Chamberlains of this World. Definitely a clue to Jurgens mental state that he didn't come out however dislocations are excruciating.Comment

Yeah, this and the Breidis-Perez fight have/had a lot of pre-fight intrigue because weight and time off are huge X factors.
Wouldn't personally know how dislocations feel, but yeah fighters react differently to injuries. He probably could have fought a few more rounds with one hand and maybe eeked out a decision (it was Germany for Christ's sake), but he didn't want to get beat up while he knew he was less than 100%, tells me he would probably fold if he got into a bad situation.
Damn, the more I think of this fight the more I kick myself for not jumping on Brant early..Comment
