I'd have to say based on his phyique, yes. Lewis was a huge man with a lot of power in the right hand...and the left. The problem is he didn't "fight big". He was a counter-puncher and a stylist, not a slugger. If he were a slugger, like Forman, for example, he could have conceiveably gotten more kayos. However, his chin, which wasn't made of granite, would have hendered him with that style because if you're looking to knock out your opponent, you leave more openings in your defense.

I'd put Lewis in the bottom half of the Top Ten Hardest Punchers; but he deserves to be that hight up, IMO.

Yeah I think Wlad Klitschko hits harder than Lewis. Lewis obviously had extremely good power, but probably not on a historic level. What a jab though. He popped that against Holy and Tyson with an artistic quality. Lennox Lewis is a guy I think will be remembered better 20 years from now than he is now because I think people try to denigrate him for some reason(maybe the British thing). He got KO'd against two guys who weren't elite or KO masters but he decimated some of the top fights of his era (wins over Tyson, Holyfield, and Vitali Klitschko are victories that won't be on many resumes).

i think Lewis had great power and was usally vary accurate with his shots. he is just not one of the hardest punchers, but he had great power better than most if not all the heavyweights today
