Choice A) the far more winnable fight against Spence or the far more money against GGG. Money talks. End of thread.
The fight with Golovkin is a win win situation for Brook. If he wins, he's a hero. If he loses, he's hero. But if he loses to Spence he's garbage.

Win or lose I don't see him fighting at 147 again, he would probably move down to 154 but if he loses one or two fights there then he would then go back to 147.

Errol did his job, and beat a much older man. I don't give credit for beating the same man 2 years later! If you don't think 41 is a little different than 39, you're probably under 35! 2 years of age on the body of a professional boxer is like 5 years of aging for the rest of us. The Oscar that Floyd beat, is not the same Oscar that Pacquiao beat. The Mosely that Floyd beat is not the same Mosely that Pacquiao beat. You get my point? I know that the Porter that Brook beat is not the Porter that Thurman barely beat, but more people saw Thurman vs. Porter than Brook vs. Porter. Thurman is a legit star in the game, but he needs a big fight, a PPV, and there are only 4 guys I think could get him what he needs: Pacquiao, Cotto, Garcia, or Broner!
That Bundu might not have been the same but a lot of that audience didn't know the difference and that KO had highlight reel all over it! It was a fight that was highly entertaining and retained viewership. I don't see any of those PPV fights being possible except Danny Garcia. Even that fight would not likely be PPV worthy or atleast not do big business if it was PPV. The funny thing is Spence is one of the fights that would boost the Thurman profile the most but he doesn't want that work any time soon. I know a lot of casuals that know Danny and don't know Thurman. And Adrien Broner does have that name recognition as well amongst these same people. I do agree Thurman does need that fight with Danny to get to the next level. These guys are boxing stars but likely will never break into the mainstream in the way Floyd and Pacman did. Canelo and GGG are getting alot of that attention now. The way into that atmosphere is through one of those guys. Brook has gotten his name out there in a big way but now he's going to have a serious fight on his hands.

Amazing levels of hypocrisy Gigi inspires in these casual ass mofos.
Amazing how ****** one can appear when they reply to the wrong post. Go figure out who it was your were replying too because I was talking about Brook selecting GGG based on money, not voicing any kind of opinion on the matter of motivational choice. Next.

No insider in boxing or genuine fan calls a top fighter garbage if they lose to Spence, especially knowing that countless fighters, even ATG's have lost to guys at Spence's level and went on to become champs again. People who think a guy is garbage losing to Spence are 13 year old fanboys. No top fighter, especially at Brook's level gives a flying *** about 15 year old fanboys. It's about the money, period. Brook chose higher risk but higher reward in GGG over lower risk but lower reward in Spence. Not a difficult concept to grasp, really.

Losing to Spence would devalue Brook to b level but he still keeps his status as an a level welterweight if he loses to Golovkin. Spence is a high risk, low reward fight and Golovkin is a high risk, high reward fight.

You are forgetting something. Brook is an undefeated fighter who feels he can beat anyone so he does not think about losing to Spence and thus would not even think about being devalued. He sees Spence as a lower risk than GGG and anyone with an IQ above a dead Frog would see it the same way. That leaves ONE THING, the money! He chose GGG for the money!

And you are forgetting something else, Brook is not going back to Welterweight, period, so he does not have a "status at Welterweight" after the GGG fight. No man who badly struggles to make Welterweight over the last couple years goes up to Middleweight and then back down to Welterweight and he himself even said he wouldn't and there is no way he can do 147 again. Welterweight is over for him! I will bet money on that. Cant make it any simpler than that for you.

SIMPLE: Brook saw Spence as an easier fight and GGG as a much higher money fight! SIMPLE! He chose the harder fight with the greater money! SIMPLE! There, I made it easier for you. This time it's free. Next time I charge. PayPal and cash only, no checks accepted.

brook didn't choose either guy over the other....spence still had to win a mandatory when this fight with ggg was announced...before that, he was in talks to fight vargas, so if anything he choose ggg over vargas.

now spence is his madatory, so after he loses to genady, brook has to decide if he wants that work, or is willing to drop the ibf and fight amir khan insted.
