Loeffler: GGG Would Have No Problem Fighting At A Catchweight Against Alvarez

Then you should care when they say anybody from 154 to 168...apply the same thought pattern to gaylovkin...Frankly I FN dont! When the WBC MW champ calls the WBC MW interim champ and mandatory challenger, into the ring and says, We dont F around in Mexico, I'll fight you at 160, only to turn around and hand over thr belt like a little b itch, I dont care about what else was said. I certainly dont think it is right for the WBC, WBA, IBF, IBO, Ring, and Lineal MW championship to be fought at ANYTHING other than the MW limit of 160. Whether you want to admit it or not, that 1 little pound difference is the difference between divisions. One is JMW, the other is MW.
Golovkin didnt 'make Brook move up'. That was Eddie Hearn. That was Chris Eubank for running his mouth for weeks and weeks, only to lose his pen when it came time. That was Canelo Alvarez for putting on a facade stringing GGG along for weeks acting like he was a MW champ, only to surrender the belt in the end. Golovkin signed to fight Eubank at 160. Eubank didnt sign and Hearn, not Golovkin, Hearn found a fighter, not a duck or coward, willing to step up to the plateComment

In May 2016, Saul Alvarez called Gennady Golovkin into the ring and said he would fight Golovkin at the full MW limit of 160 lbs. 10 days later, Saul Alvarez surrendered the title to Gennady Golovkin. If Saul Alvarez wins his fight against Liam Smith and is a 154 lb champion, then I think a CW of 157 [(154+160)/2] is reasonable for a fight between champions of different divisions. I do not feel a CW of any type is appropriate for a unification bout between champions from the same division.Comment

Deep. Just kidding, let me know when you reach high school, some of this stuff may become clearer to you. See, you'll get there some day, that's time for youComment

The spin to sell this fight continues.
Would have took DeGale, Would have fought Ward, Brook the bigger guy, they are terrified, his biggest challenge, and so on and so on
Now we got all of the sudden he will fight at a CW when before this was laughed at by them.
Fools selling crap on a platter and nuthuggers are eating it up

(c) 50% to the champion and 45% to the interim champion, in the event of such a bout. From WBC rules
2.17 Division of Proceeds in a Purse Offer. The net purse offer (after deduction of all sanction
fees payable to the WBC hereunder) shall be divided as follows:
(a) 70% for the champion and 30% for the challenger in title bouts; and
(b) 50% to each contender in the case of vacant titles or elimination bouts;
Golovkin would be interim and Canelo would be regular. People don't like to admit it but both Canelo and Cotto weren't full WBC champion as long as the interim title was still not unified with the title to make it whole again.Comment

154 to 168...GGG still begging a retired Floyd and an undersized Canelo who he won't meet halfway for a payday...your guy is a joke in a protected HBO bubble...😂😂😂In May 2016, Saul Alvarez called Gennady Golovkin into the ring and said he would fight Golovkin at the full MW limit of 160 lbs. 10 days later, Saul Alvarez surrendered the title to Gennady Golovkin. Donald Trump must be running this team. This team will just say something one week and say the exact opposite next weekComment

That rule regarding splits between Champion and Interim Champion was in previous edition. Under current rules Interim champion is not entitled to any share greater than that of a challenger. So its 70-30 by default.(c) 50% to the champion and 45% to the interim champion, in the event of such a bout.
Golovkin would be interim and Canelo would be regular. People don't like to admit it but both Canelo and Cotto weren't full WBC champion as long as the interim title was still not unified with the title to make it whole again.
3.21 Interim Championship Rule. In special circumstances, including when the WBC in its sole discretion declares a WBC champion temporarily unavailable to defend his title, the WBC may sanction a bout between Qualified Challe
ngers for an interim championship, or otherwise recognize an interim champion in the division.
In its sole discretion, the WBC shall subsequently determine the timing and terms of any bout between a Champion and Interim Champion to determine a sole champion in the division, provided, however, that an Interim Champion shall never be deemed a mandatory challenger, or entitled to greater share of proceeds of any purse offer beyond that of a challenger, without a specific prior written order to that effect from the WBC President or his designee.
For the avoidance of doubt, a WBC Interim World Championship shall be considered a true WBC World title for all purposes, other than with respect to a bout versus the actual World Champion, absent any order to the contrary
from the WBC in its sole discretion.Comment
